Is this the lady who was shitting on Luke?

Link got deleted, so I have no idea what it's about, but drama thread on the main boards.

I feel a bit bad for her. She's clearly upset that she was let go, and probably has some reason to be.

That said, it really feels like she's just trying to do something to cause the most damage to the Canucks - and not that she's pursuing some sort of rightful action.

Her actions are why her age group has the stigma it does, that's for sure. She essentially just ran herself out of her career but is being validated online by those in her circle.
This generation has the stigma it does because you're getting old.

Trust me, the middle aged and old people 40 years ago didn't feel great or even good about the 22-27 year old set.

Unfortunately some boomers (the most entitled generation btw) and X'ers have worked their asses off to prove them correct.

Like with most other issues in this society everyone thinks they have insight and/or a valid opinion because it's playing out in real time, and for the whole world to see.

I know nothing of this situation but am certainly exhausted by the incessant whining, blanket statements, and baseless insuations about people under 35. It's just tired at this point.

Full disclosure: I'm not under 40, think the kids are alright, and can't wait for them to take over.

I don’t know her and will never know what’s really going on so can’t comment specifically on this.

As a general comment, a person who keeps going different places and has problems everywhere they go may need to look internally on what contribution they may have to that.

Also, talking negatively about players and front office staff publicly probably doesn’t help a case that appears to hinge on someone being mean to you.

The weirdest part of this is she’s complaining about how she was treated by Émilie Castonguay, who was the first (and apparently still only) certified NHL player agent and was the 2nd woman to become a NHL AGM.

Maybe Castonguay doesn’t have great people skills but Dorrie did this sort of move after her time with the Devils.

Suffered major anxiety until she couldn’t function, blame the toxic environment and all the crappy people who ran the place (except the visionaries who hired her), got fired (while she had already sort of disengaged), and publicly bitched about all of them except the NHL HC whom she liked to play up her connection with.

There certainly could be some terrible work environments or toxic behind the scenes stuff involved. But holy shit, she’s impossibly unprofessional, not sure why this needs to be made public outside of her needing to have people on Twitter coo over her.

Also, she seems to be claiming that she wasn’t a direct source for the article called “Canucks: Rachel Doerrie’ Role on Coaching Staff Gets Some Clarity” written by “a reporter and friend of Ms. Doerrie’s since her time of working in sports commentary”.

This seems to be suggesting that the article came out Boudreau independently talking up his new Assistant Video Coach while at a celebrity golf game, rather than her friend managing to get this story published with info she directly provided him.

It also claims that the writer only contacted her before it was published to share the nice things Boudreau had said about her.

“It was clear that Mr Johnston (the writer) was not seeking a story or a quote from Ms Doerrie, but was simply conveying compliments that she received from Mr Boudreau, as one would between friends.”

That’s, uh, let’s say, not a very believable claim to me.

The article you linked to sure sounds like a bunch of Boudreau quotes, though?

I’m not saying he made the Boudreau quotes up but I don’t know if this article happens if she isn’t friends with the writer.

They go to great lengths to deny that she had anything to do with the article but I can see that it would be a tough sell.

If her claims are true, then Castonguay looks pretty bad here, but we don't have her side of this so we don't know for sure.

It's a bit hard to believe Rachel much though based on her past

I wonder if she was the source of the Zacha rumors last year. It was first reported by Marek who we can presume she has a professional relationship given he has been the one to report that she hired a lawyer and that this complaint was coming. Given her previous connections with the Devils (and we know he was being shopped) I’m sure Canucks brass asked her about him. The original report was the Canucks looking at him (not the Devils shopping him).

I think rachel will get some out-of-court settlement, but if she's looking to get hired again within the NHL, this isn't gonna look good for her. seems like a wrongful termination, buuuuuuut it really depends on the terms she signed on for with the company. they may have something that nullifies any of this.

Having read most of the complaint and being familiar with corporate media policies, I don’t think Castonguay looks bad at all.

The context here is her alleged role in a story about her promotion, which the team didn’t want publicized. The “you’re not important” is very clearly in the context of a media profile on her. And reading between the lines she was fired because the team believed she was a leaker.

There's no evidence for that.

Speaking as a very young and not at all old person I should absolutely be put in charge.

granted i dont know this lady's back story as others on here with the devils and luke hughes comments or how she left. i also quickly read this story she posted and this all started from the bruce story and her retweeting it? seems minor enough to me. i agree with the lady that said you aren't that important and the media doesn't care about you. I do think its messed up and a definitely a play on words/dig when she was told she might not mentally be able to handle the job. *if that is true what was said*

did i not even get any of the story/back story right? lol

We have 9 more points than the Kraken and a better G/D, but are ever so slightly less likely ot make the playoffs according to them according to moneypuck because of how bad the west is lmao

29-29-1 from here gets us to 97 points. I’m not sure if it’ll take 100 points to make the playoffs in the East again this year, but it is looking like a year where 88-90 points will be enough in the West.

Right now it’s something like 85 point pace are in the West wild card spots right now, but I expect that to come up slightly by year’s end.

3 point games are bound to increase as we pass the midway point of the season. Wouldn't be shocked to see 95 points being the minimum to get in the playoffs for the west.
