The weirdest part of this is she’s complaining about how she was treated by Émilie Castonguay, who was the first (and apparently still only) certified NHL player agent and was the 2nd woman to become a NHL AGM.
Maybe Castonguay doesn’t have great people skills but Dorrie did this sort of move after her time with the Devils.
Suffered major anxiety until she couldn’t function, blame the toxic environment and all the crappy people who ran the place (except the visionaries who hired her), got fired (while she had already sort of disengaged), and publicly bitched about all of them except the NHL HC whom she liked to play up her connection with.
There certainly could be some terrible work environments or toxic behind the scenes stuff involved. But holy shit, she’s impossibly unprofessional, not sure why this needs to be made public outside of her needing to have people on Twitter coo over her.
Also, she seems to be claiming that she wasn’t a direct source for the article called “Canucks: Rachel Doerrie’ Role on Coaching Staff Gets Some Clarity” written by “a reporter and friend of Ms. Doerrie’s since her time of working in sports commentary”.
This seems to be suggesting that the article came out Boudreau independently talking up his new Assistant Video Coach while at a celebrity golf game, rather than her friend managing to get this story published with info she directly provided him.
It also claims that the writer only contacted her before it was published to share the nice things Boudreau had said about her.
“It was clear that Mr Johnston (the writer) was not seeking a story or a quote from Ms Doerrie, but was simply conveying compliments that she received from Mr Boudreau, as one would between friends.”
That’s, uh, let’s say, not a very believable claim to me.
Rachel Doerrie, the hockey analyst hired by the Vancouver Canucks late last season, will work as part of Bruce Boudreau's staff this season.
