ahahaha they released him
They just didn't shoot themselves in the foot, they blew it to pieces with a howitzer.

Well this will be an interesting grievance.
I’m not sure how Neely and Sweeney can keep their jobs.
They failed to fully vet a signing that caused a major pr snafu (which could have harmed sponsorships) and will likely cost team money as I’m sure the matter will be grieved and they will have to pay the full amount. That’s a fireable offense in most businesses.they shouldn’t lose their jobs over it but they definitely should be fully criticized.
The claim that he was committed to work with Carnegie Institute probably hurts more. That is probably what the Bruins will hang their hat on the kill the contract. His agent's tweet was really stupid too today, tried to prove Miller was doing charity work on his own with special needs kids but it was court mandated.

And let’s be honest this probably isn’t a case of improper vetting, as it is they thought the negative pr would blow over. It probably got too much for ownership and the “new information” stuff is an attempt to win a grievance to cancel the contract.
Edit: and I should add I doubt the pressure on Neely and Sweeney is going to die down in the short term. This isn’t the Arizona situation where there was a new GM and he could pass it off to the old hockey ops staff.
There is one guy they have to answer to. I’m skeptical they signed Miller without going over thr potential blowback with JACOBS. They may have underestimated the negative press but what vetting can you do for this? I doubt they were fooled by the agent. Their prosect pool is terrible and they just tried to add to it like it was still 1985. Did they think that even if he did some charity work this would end well? They failed to fully vet a signing that caused a major pr snafu (which could have harmed sponsorships) and will likely cost team money as I’m sure the matter will be grieved and they will have to pay the full amount. This is almost like trying to sneak a player through waivers after the preseason. Boston thought they'd be able to sneak this through and didn't anticipate the backlash, deservedly so, that accompanied it. Having said the deservedly so part, I am sure there will be some on here that will side with Miller saying that he was a kid, he's apologized, etc in a similar fashion as they did with the players in the Hockey Canada scandal. This is seriously one of the stupidest dumb shit things I’ve seen in quite a while in the hockey world.
I’m immediately thinking of the Billy Madison “We are all dumber” after having say through the last 50-something hours of this dumpster fire.
I don’t know if this is more funny on the Bruins part or just sad.
I know it’s definitely embarrassing.
It took them 1 month to figure out his name from a blurry game feed their scouts gave them. The Bruins claimed they did "months of research" into him and it took journalists less than 2 days to completely obliterate all the lies his agent was pushing.
Here's your answer : They weren't thinking.Really have no idea what the bruins were thinking with this
Have you or anyone here been to their board at all lately? This is seriously one of the stupidest dumb shit things I’ve seen in quite a while in the hockey world.

I'm curious how their fans here are taking this whole fiasco....
Oh no
well they figure if the hawks could openly mock a player who was sexually abused why can't they sign this kid?did the best team in the league really need this? what the hell were they thinking? nobody considered the risk vs the reward? holy shit
