I don't know what "back revision" surgery is but that seems...bad!

It depends upon the surgery. If a discetomy it means they took out a little of that material they left behind. If a fusion it makes they added some more bone replacement at the original site to build it up some more. In either event it’s impressive he can return in three to four months. In thr peroeonal injury world he’d never work again and would need extensive rehab and perpetual pain management (which of course would never happen once the case is resolved but I digress)….

Jack Hughes: after Vancouver is....Ashes. You have my permission to join the Devils

*Jack Looks at Quinn*
Jack: Playing for Vancouver has cost you your strength. Sucking has defeated you!

Pettersson: What are you?!

Jack Hughes: Vancouver's reckoning.

So does that mean that Pavel Zacha was born in the darkness? It would explain a lot.

If anyone has some cash saved up, you can purchase Max Pacioretty's home.

This seems to have ruffled some feathers from Leafs fans on the main board, but I think Rupper is spot on with this.

Immediate reaction was to disagree but yeah this is no good, you can have the other guys come in there (they want to), but you've got to do something. Not the kind of thing that gets you respect in the handshake line.

I think he's overstating how much it affects Toronto's chances for success, but he's definitely right about it being a dick move for Matthews to stand there while his teammates fight on his behalf. The only guy who gets to do that is the goalie, and even they sometimes get more involved in scrums than that.

The fact that he's smiling at his teammates coming after the guy is not a good look. Looks like a wimpy, untouchable that won't get his hands dirty and just lets his bodyguards do the work.

that is one way to look at it but other hand if he dropped the gloves busts his hand and is out 8 weeks we would be hearing about how stupid he was to drop the gloves himself and thats why he has "bodyguards" on the team to do the grunt work. its a lose/lose

I don't think anyone is necessarily expecting him to drop the gloves (and Rupp specifically says this twice in the video), but he was certainly instigating (or at least escalating) things with Konecny and did absolutely nothing while his teammates jumped in for him. According to Rupp, there's a history of Matthews doing this - though I can't speak to that being the case myself.

I think it's valid criticism, but can also see where others think this is a whole lot of nothing. I'm sure it's exhausting for Toronto fans (and especially players) to have so much media attention for every little thing that goes on with that team.

I like that the Devils largely fly under the radar (though a bit more coverage would be nice) and that I can easily afford to take my family out to games.

devils are going to get more coverage eventually. it already started with a long article in the athletic about their underlying numbers.

but if they play like this and sustain success for a couple of years they will have two american golden boys in the hughes brothers and the media will certainly take notice of that

I know power rankings are about as useful as tits on a goose, but bleacher report has them at 3 (up **16** spots).
