Wow, Sharks are really throwing in the towel BEFORE Halloween? I guess the official tank for Bedard race has begun.
They really should have thrown in the towel before LAST HALLOWEEN!

They suck.

One of the absolute worst teams in the league. They might win fewer games this year than (maybe not both) one of Chicago or Arizona.

As a fan of their team (they're my second team) I'm insulted as a fan that they're pretending to compete with THAT roster. They probably shouldn't have even re-signed Hertl, as he'll be an old man by the time they're likely any good again.

Yup . Holtz plus plus (no Nemec)
If you do that than Meier has to agree on extension. How will that work cap wise with Bratt about to get huge money (if he wants to stay)? I know they will have lots of cap space but Meier and Bratt will eat half of that and would still need to sign 11 players with 18-20m left in cap space (if it goes up by only 1m).

Poor kid cannot catch a break - from Trotz to Torts

Honestly, going to Philly and playing for Torts is probably the best thing that can happen to the kid. Despite his reputation, there are plenty of players that just thrive under Torts. He's known to bench his better players when its warranted and give ice time to hard working, lesser players instead. If there's someone that can whip Bellows into shape, it's Torts.

Kase played one game. It looks like he played the whole game with 11:02 minutes.

He played 50 regular season games, plus 7 playoff games, in Toronto and doctors made some progress treating him (according to a Athletic article a while back) but I’m back to saying this guy needs to retire.

He got a concussion? I don’t know anything more than that.

If you mean in the past here’s a quick synopsis from an ad riddled site that needs to learn about paragraphs (I made some myself):

Any news of a possible brain injury is particularly alarming for Kase, 26, who has a history of concussions. The first documented document came from an AHL game in 2015-16. He had several stints in the IR as a member of the Anaheim Ducks and, after being traded to the Boston Bruins in 2019-20, only played nine regular season games for them over two seasons, mostly due to concussion-related absences. He missed about four months of action after sustaining a concussion on a hit by New Jersey Devils Miles Wood in Game 2 of the 2020-21 regular season.

Doing the math on this July 2021 story and factoring in Kase’s 2021-22 concussion, he has six documented concussions, not including the injury he’s currently being assessed for. Depending on whether or not we rate absences designated for “upper body injuries” in the same way as officially diagnosed concussions, it’s possible that Kase’s concussion total could be in the double digits.

Last season, as a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs, he suffered a concussion in March and missed several weeks. He returned in the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs and ended up earning a Masterton Trophy nomination for his persistence.

Kase had surgery for a torn labrum so some UBI injuries were UBI injuries like that. All the time he missed in Boston was due to concussions IIRC.

And the Athletic article:

I hate telling athletes what to do with their bodies, but I also hate seeing him on the ice.
