Not a lot of teams with the cap space and motivation right now. Most teams are going to want to conserve their cap space for a bigger fish closer to the deadline. Carolina maybe was just fortunate that Vancouver got off to a bad start and has an impatient owner who wants to make the playoffs. Buffalo could have made sense with recent injuries to Jokiharju and Samuelsson that'll keep them sidelined for a few weeks.
Vancouver also made a change of scenery trade with Boston yesterday. Canucks sent away disgruntled goalie prospect Mikey DiPietro (plus a RD prospect) for Jack Studnicka. Boston probably ran out of roster spots once Brad Marchand was activated and Studnicka was lost in the shuffle. Probably boils more down to the D prospect (Jonathan Myrenberg). Not sure where DiPietro fits on Boston's goalie depth chart with Keith Kinkaid and Kyle Keyser already in the AHL.

Yes , he has increased his shots per game almost every year , which is a good thing . Eventually his shooting % will level out and the goals will come. If they do trade him , I hope his shooting % and luck is still bad as it might lower his cost.
If we do move Severson, I’m guessing a team will pay a hefty price for him. He’s a very good and hard to come by piece (RHD) and a contender will pay for toget that at the TDL. Im nkr sure how to look at Severson’s future with us. Really like him and he’s a good player but not sure if he will fit in our cap structure or make sense to pay him what he will likely ask for , when we have Hamilton Marino Nemec
