Yeah Im really confused about this one. I really don't know why it was something they had to do for that cap hit?

Very similar to the awful Zaitsev extension given by Lamoriello.

He played pretty well for them last year, and allowed Dahlin to really shine. It seems too soon for me, but then if he has a very good year, which is possible, then he'd end up costing them a ton. He's likely to be their top pairing partner for Dahlin, with Power on a second D pairing... If it works out of them, then it's wonderful. If it doesn't, yah... Zaitsev. Big risk, potential big reward. I guess when you don't have much else of value, you can take those risks

But like... I don't think he was ever going to be a player to completely exceed expectations on his next contract. I feel like the reward is not nearly enough for the risk.

I shake my head too... but most of the Buffalo fans seem to like it.

1 game Friday& Saturday, 2 yesterday, and tonight the first time we get to channel surf.

At a minimum it would keep Holl out of the lineup. You take Durzi over Holl any day.
When fully healthy Holl shouldn’t be in our lineup anyway. The question would be Durzi or Liljegren/Sandin

That Mattias Samuelsson contract seems highly speculative.
It’s a gamble contract. If it works it will be a steal when the cap jumps in a few years. If it doesn’t it will look ugly. But they would also be able to buy him out at 1/3 instead of the normal 2/3. At least for the next couple seasons.

Good point.
For me it would be Liljegren > Durzi > Sandin

First shot on Jack Campbell and its a goal. Welcome to Oiler Land. Lol

Jack Campbell with the great stat line.

2 shots, 2 goals.

They are not really digital boards, the ads in each arenas are still old fashion ads. These digital ads are only for viewers at home. It is a new technology(actually been around Euro Football for a while) for the NHL to maximize sponsorship dollars.
I know this bc my company is a huge sponsor for the Canucks and the Canucks guys were explaining this to us.

Oh look the Avalanche, an actual elite team, had no problem making easy work of a dogshit opponent. Wonder what that must feel like
Are you implying this 'playing down to your competition' is getting old? Well, yes, yes it is.

Look it is only game one of a new season, but there should have been a better result out of that game, no excuse really. Not going to lie, I put a few dollars down on the Habs in this game; sadly but not unexpectedly getting paid out.
