For me, it looks like a combination of heavy mileage and an imbalance of skill foundation to grit and grind. You never count them out on opening night but this year's team isn't going to be their best version by a long shot.

without cirelli and stacking the top line they really look like a one line team more than ever.

Looks like one great line, one 3rd line, and 2 fourth lines.

And then you have Foote on the top pair and Sergachev on a top usage pair for the first time ever.

But I won't overstate it - they're still a dang good team. Just a lot more holes at the moment than there used to be.

Drouin has had awful body language since day one. On HFHabs it’s also being heavily inferred that he’s dealing with some mental health issues.

If I had to guess, he’s just ‘over it’. Playing in a ravenous market for a losing team that you grew up watching certainly doesn’t help, and then watching the team that drafted you win Cups, yeah that absolutely doesn’t help.

Him and his 5.5 mil are off the books after the season ends. The Habs are probably shopping him but if there are no takers or the fee to ship him is too high it doesn’t cost anything to send him to The LTIR.



Love the refs gift-wrapping Tampa PP time, including a full two minute two man advantage (on which they scored their only goal) and three penalties against the Rangers in the 3rd.

What does Jeff Vinik have on Bettman?

Eichel doesn't look like a very good match for his wingers. He seems to be doing most of the work himself, and Phil and Smith don't seem to work with him, they never seen open for a pass. Phil looks big and slow.
 
Durzi is great offensively but gives it all back on the other end. He costs the Kings a point on the last play. The positives still make him useful but he needs to be sheltered.
His coach just indirectly called him out post game

Other than in goal VGK didn’t look good through 2 so I was surprised they got a regulation W.

Loved his play in Junior, but honestly, don't miss him. Not a lot of room for that kind of dman on this team.

Cernak just extended for 8x5.25 and he’s what you’d hope Samuellson becomes. If he has an unexpected offensive breakout it could be a steal, but there’s really no savings otherwise.
