Obviously opening night, but Tampa looks sluggish to start the year.
Not sure Foote can hang on that top pair no matter how good Hedman is.
For me, it looks like a combination of heavy mileage and an imbalance of skill foundation to grit and grind. You never count them out on opening night but this year's team isn't going to be their best version by a long shot.
Rangers are really taking it to the Lightning
Definitely both. Zibanejad has been a monster. The Rangers are playing a great game tonight. You never know if it’s the team winning playing great, or the losing team playing horribly. It’s a bit of both so far.
164 goal pace for the season. Can Matthews catch Niederreiter and Zibanejad?
and…..
Tell me those Kings’ sweaters are just for warm up.
Other than in goal VGK didn’t look good through 2 so I was surprised they got a regulation W.
Loved his play in Junior, but honestly, don't miss him. Not a lot of room for that kind of dman on this team.Durzi is great offensively but gives it all back on the other end. He costs the Kings a point on the last play. The positives still make him useful but he needs to be sheltered.
His coach just indirectly called him out post game
At a minimum it would keep Holl out of the lineup. You take Durzi over Holl any day.Loved his play in Junior, but honestly, don't miss him. Not a lot of room for that kind of dman on this team.
Cernak just extended for 8x5.25 and he’s what you’d hope Samuellson becomes. If he has an unexpected offensive breakout it could be a steal, but there’s really no savings otherwise. The hell is Buffalo doing?
7 years and $4.285 AAV for a guy with 0 goals, 12 assists, 54 NHL games over two years?
I’m speechless
