No your excuses just suck and never turn out to be right

The reffing sure - Vegas is getting the good end of the officiating so far.

The play? No f***ing chance. Vegas is forechecking like demons, crashing the crease and making Bob nervous every shift. We play NOTHING like them. You honest to god think that perimeter garbage we played is comparable to what Vegas is doing?
Hmm thats funny because all 7 goals that vegas has scored against bob in the first 2 games have all been just simple, unimpeded, undeflected shots with little to no traffic in front of bob. If vegas was crashing the net so well with real chances why do they have less high danger chances than toronto got in games 1-2? People make up too many imaginary narratives to explain away simple goalie variance. We see regression to mean happen to all goalies after runs like this and i always see the same nonsense.

I think vegas is a very solid team that is deserving to win the cup. I have nothing to take away from them. I think they are more balanced than toronto which allows them to be more successful but i dont see the huge gap in play that people are talking about.

That was a great hit. Kudos to Eichel to get right back and walked to dress room.

Vegas from the get go was built for playoffs. This team still has McPhee written all over it.
Soft players like Patch, they got rid of him
Dadonov, gone
Neal, Perron, gone

Fortune favors the bold. We have no made bold moves, we have no tried anything different

Vegas doesn't care about coming off as a feel good team. They are in the business of winning
I want my future Leafs defense to start looking like Vegas Dcore.. Big, Mean and Mobile.

Florida loves to crash the net, but getting to goalie Hill through that, and standing upright is proving very difficult. Even Tkachuk is picking himself up from inside the Vegas net.

This Vegas team reminds me a lot of the Ducks back in 2007. Size, speed, skill, team toughness.

They could play whatever game you wanted to and if you went after one of their guys, you had to deal with the other players on the ice.
They were like a pack of hungry wolves and they weren’t going to be denied!

It didn’t matter if you were the most skilled player on the team, the smallest player on the team… whatever! If you were on the ice, you played relentless hockey. There was no denying their team identity.

Through the first 2 games of their series against Florida...

Leafs vs. Florida: 131 shot attempts, 73 shots, 75 scoring chances, 43 scoring chance shots, 36 high danger chances, 25 high danger shots, 2 rush attempts, 9 rebound attempts,... 9.92 xGF generated, 28.73 ft average shot distance, 10.75 ft average goal distance
Vegas vs Florida: 115 shot attempts, 61 shots, 61 scoring chances, 35 scoring chance shots, 34 high danger chances, 21 high danger shots, 2 rush attempts, 6 rebound attempts,... 6.87 xGF generated, 31.69 ft average shot distance, 22.64 ft average goal distance

So Leafs, through the first 2 games of their series, got more shot attempts, shots, scoring chances, scoring chance shots, high danger chances, high danger shots, rebound attempts, expected goals, and both shot pucks and scored goals from closer to the net.
Vegas wasn't better in anything - only tying with the Leafs in rush attempts.

And this despite Vegas getting 4 more PPs than us, and being pretty healthy.

The difference?

Florida goaltending through first 2 games vs. Leafs: +5.92 GSAx
Florida goaltending through first 2 games vs. Vegas: -4.13 GSAx

It's pretty amazing how much some people have their perception of team play skewed by goaltending.

Also funny how the refs suddenly started calling Florida's dirtiness. They are already almost at the same number of penalties taken as they in the entire series against us (in 3 less games).

Of course... Sometimes the most undisciplined teams in the league become the most disciplined when they play us in the playoffs. In two games in our series I believe Florda had zero infractions. What an absolute joke.

Well people will just say that the Leafs do not get to the hard areas enough, even though the Leafs were practically living in areas where you draw the most penalties.

Or they will point out that we had more PP's than them. Good for us; we should have had significantly more.

In order to have a “fix”, every single person in the NHL, from the PA, all officials, reporters, front office clerks, managers would need to be in on it because someone would find out and expose it like Watergate. People live to expose stuff.

Or you can just have people sign an NDA.

They are getting pucks up high. Bobrovsky had trouble with it against us too. I think Keefe even pointed it out after the first or second game; we needed to get the puck up. Just look at Nylander's goal as an example.

Instead, we were perfectly content trying to jam pucks across the goal line when Bobrovsky wasn't giving up greasy goals.

Save Spot for Dubas at Penguins' Draft Table - Pittsburgh Hockey Now

Kyle Dubas will be at the Pittsburgh Penguins’ table during the NHL Draft later this month in Nashville.

That won’t necessarily come across as a revelation, considering that he is the team’s newly minted president of hockey operations and interim general manager.

Someone holding those positions would be the logical choice to preside over the selection of young players who could have a significant impact on the success — or lack thereof — that the franchise has in coming years.

There was no guarantee it would be that simple, however.

A Penguins official confirmed Monday that Toronto, which fired Kyle Dubas as general manager last month, imposed no conditions on him when the Penguins sought permission to discuss a job with him.

Dubas’ contract with the Maple Leafs was still in effect, which is why the Penguins had to get clearance from Toronto to speak with him.

Coincidentally enough, Dubas’ replacement with the Leafs, Brad Treliving, is operating with some restrictions imposed by Calgary, which fired him in May. His contract with the Flames was to run through the end of this month.

As part of its agreement to let Treliving talk to the Maple Leafs about the position he eventually accepted, Calgary insisted that he not have any involvement with Toronto’s draft preparations.

The rationale for such a move presumably is to assure that proprietary information an individual acquired while employed by one club does not end up being used for the benefit of another.

Just how big of an impact the Flames’ conditions will have on Toronto remains to be seen. The Maple Leafs are scheduled to make just three picks — in the first, fifth and sixth rounds — during the draft, which is set for June 28-29 in Nashville.

And Bettman would have let NBC keep the TV rights and in the event someone blew the whistle, they could just pull out their blame it on Russia crew.

Boston was more hated on Boston than Babs was in Toronto. There is no way Torontos softies would've played hard for him.

Cassidy has been a great fit for Vegas, but I'm sure inheriting a team of players that will go through the wall to get the job done must be nice. Hard to win when players are afraid of their own shadows.

Why does it always happen to us? Serious question...why? Do you not think there could be something about the way we play that allows us to get goalied EVERY SINGLE YEAR since Dubas took over?

We just always have excuses for our team failing over and over. Between refs and getting goalied you'd think we're the only team that plays against the refs and hot goalies.
