I dont remember seeing any real heat for not signing campbell

Feel bad for Jack in Edmonton.
Having Ceci and Barrie in your top 4 is a recipe for disaster.

Not signing campbell or who the replacement wasIm not going to dig up every article, but virtually every sports commentator said replacing campbell with murray and samsonov was a mistake. Nearly every offseason ranking had poor marks for Dubas citing his goaltending moves.
My memory must be fading, seemed to me everyone was happy to move on.By lots of people that dont matter in the grand scheme of things.. like us on a message board lol

Poor marks were deserved for sure.Im not going to dig up every article, but virtually every sports commentator said replacing campbell with murray and samsonov was a mistake. Nearly every offseason ranking had poor marks for Dubas citing his goaltending moves.
Agreed atleast personally.. campbell going was the correct move.My memory must be fading, seemed to me everyone was happy to move on.

I don't follow the media, so I'll take your word for it.
Noting... Goalies who changed teams last offseason by SV %
Georgiev 0.924
Samsonov 0.921
Vanacek 0.909
Campbell 0.873
Kuemper 0.916
Mrazek 0.895
Samsamov 2.23 GAA
Vanacek 2.33
Kuemper 2.47
Georgiev 2.66
Campbell 4.27
If Dubas was deservedly criticized for his goalie moves, perhaps it's telling that you shouldn't criticize goalie moves, until seeing the results. 2nd of goalies that moved in SV%, first in GAA for Samsanov. It's a TBD on Murray, who has only played one game.
Putting aside the irrelevance of Lou (the star goalie prospect he inherited is doing well, hooray?), the Leafs literally just beat Boston and Carolina on back to back nights. Weird argument. As much as some hate the dino Lou, the Isles beat Calgary and NYR on back to back nights with Sorokin and Varly.
Don't forget Husso and Comrie as well. Georgiev though... Sakic is a genius. Always one step ahead.Noting... Goalies who changed teams last offseason by SV %

There was a contingent of folks who thought that they should've just paid up for Campbell instead of trading for Murray since Murray wasn't making that much less overall. Either way, I'm happy that we don't have that albatross of a deal for a mediocre goalie. Murray has his issues but at least if he's injured he can go onto LTIR and it's not just dead cap space. My memory must be fading, seemed to me everyone was happy to move on.

Calgary is top 5-10 in pretty much all the underlying metrics. Shots, shot attempts, expected goals etc, and they're also one of the best teams at limiting chances and shots against. Their goaltending is failing them though and they're also in a shooting funk (26th in shooting %, the Leafs are 27th for comparison). They're similar to the Leafs right now actually where they're not scoring as much as they should be, but the Leafs have received top 10 goaltending whereas the Flames are getting bottom 5 goaltending right now. They have a bottom 5 PDO as a result, so they should turn it around eventually, though it depends if Markstrom is just washed up now or if he can return to form.Campbell lost them the game in the 2nd period. Oilers just cut the lead in half and then he allowed an awful goal to Svech. The dagger was the buzzer beater by Staal. Those goals can't go in.
Eh I'm not sure about that. Maybe they deserved a better fate vs SEA and NYI on this losing streak, but they haven't been great overall.
One thing to note about the Flames is everything went right for them last year. A ton of players had career years and they had zero impactful injuries. This year, Tanev, Kylington, Stone, and now Huberdeau have missed time, and a guy like Mangiapane doesn't have horseshoes up his ass.

Not gonna lie it's pretty hilarious that nothing has changed in Ottawa except the level of disappointmentI knew Ottawa was having a bad time but in relation to the rest of the division they’re having a much worse go of it than I thought.

Buffalo and Detroit who are the most comparable teams to them are actually competitive so far, while Montreal who people thought would be tanking are well ahead of the Sens too.
The “Summer of Pierre” has smoothly transitioned into the “Fall of Ottawa.”
Neither are being bought out.
I'm not really sure what you're trying to say?Martin Brodeur

So the two teams did the exact same thing, and you're using that as a basis to suggest that Isles are doing things better?Every squirrel finds a nut once in a while. The argument is that the Isles can throw a true #1 on back to back nights while the Leafs throw a hope and a prayer.

Brodeur is HOF goaltender and he retired with the same number of Cups as Lamoriello.I'm not really sure what you're trying to say?
These posts are hilarious.Every squirrel finds a nut once in a while. The argument is that the Isles can throw a true #1 on back to back nights while the Leafs throw a hope and a prayer. Their prayers were answered last weekend but let's see if they are answered when it counts.
