With all these high quality forwards going for nothing we better not be running jarnkrok as second LW and kerfoot at 3C for the playoffs

Do you even pay attention to this team?

Funny thing... Jarnkrok scores at a higher rate/60 minutes 5v5... than other options out there.
A lot of players would playing with Marner and Tavares. Doesn't make Jarnkrok the better player than the options out there not on as good teams/lines. Shouldn't this be common knowledge when it comes to some of these analytics people follow so closely.

So you'd rather one of jarnkrok, engvall or kerfoot then Meier, tarasenko or Kane then.

We can get towes as a 3C and bump kampf to the 4th line while being more balanced for like a 2/3 the way the market is.

It's dumb not to improve upon that

Not everyone would be going at a near PPG clip while playing 14 minutes a night though either.

On this team and on that line I'm sure you could find many who would be after 15 games especially when he got 6 of his 13 points in that span in 2 games. Again, not bad and he's been playing well and if they want to keep him there permanently then that's fine if they think he can keep his production up.

You called Kerfoot the 3C... he hasn't played C for us this year.

Who is Towes? Handzul, Finger, Knies and Towes?

Toews... 1.19 PTS/60, 5v5. That's legitimately bad production. I mean even Kampf is more productive at 1.22 PTS/60. David Kampf!!! Kerfoot is at 1.48 PTS/60.... the idea is to IMPROVE the bottom six, not make it worse.

Outside of faceoffs, Holmberg has been very good for us.... outside of Henrique, there isn't really much of an upgrade readily available. Given Holmberg has been good (other than faceoffs), we should probably focus on other areas..

So I'd rather have one of Jarnkrok, Engvall, or Kerfoot thAn, Meier, Tarasenko or Kane?

I don't really want Kane, more of what we have, and doesn't balance the team... Tarasenko is better.. but still not what we'd need. (If you hadn't noticed, he was traded already) In any case, Dubas stated today that he wouldn't trade firsts or Knies for rentals... these two are rentals.

Meier is very good, fits what we need.... but, he'd cost a ton, and we couldn't keep both him and the other top four next year. I don't see him either.

It's fine to want to improve upon the team... but maybe pay attention to where your own teams players are playing position wise, as well as looking at how shiny names like Toews are actually playing.

Never realize how good of a season Hagel is having for Tampa .. after not doing much last year, he's making them love that deal now

I know the avs have had injuries but man how are they still barely in a playoff spot with how bad the west is... Did everything just happen to click for them last season and they played way above what they're capable of?

Came across this, and according to it the leafs have had the worst injury luck in the league this year.

Defensively and in goaltending, they're pretty similar. The big difference is they dropped from the 4th highest scoring team to a 3-way tie for 22nd, after losing Kadri (and his fluke monster season), Burakovsky, and some depth in the offseason, losing Landeskog to injury, and for the 1st time in 6 years, not being 1st in PP opportunities.

And while they were a great team last year, I think a lot of people forget how easy their playoff path was. They faced Nashville and their backup goalie, St Louis and their backup goalie, and Edmonton and their 40-year old goalie, to get them to the Cup final against a much more worn down opponent without their #1C.

I didn't realize Kucherov is tied for 2nd in points with 76 lol. Thought he was in the 60s for some reason

You hear buzz around the two Oilers, Pastrnak, Karlsson, Thompson, and Hughes, but there's Kucherov having another monster season.

So we lead the league this year in man games lost both in terms of raw numbers AND in player quality.

And are still 3rd in the league at the all-star break.

That is tremendous growth
