Bo Horvat playoff goal scoring to Maple Leafs comparison.

Horvat 10 goals in 17 games.
vs
Nylander 10 goals in last 19 playoff games.
Matthews 7 goals in last 19 playoff games.
Tavares 7 goals in last 20 playoff games.
Marner 2 goals in last 19 playoff games.
That's a pretty misleading way to say that Horvat has played at a 57 point pace through his playoff career, which is worse than all of our core forwards despite Horvat not experiencing the external barriers to production that our players have.

Wonder if last year's number included the playoffs?
I don't think it would if you want to compare apples to apples and it mentions regular season games.

So this must be October 2021 - Feb 2022 vs October 2022 - Feb 2023.

One would think the playoffs have the highest viewership.

However I think ACC1224 makes a good point in that with the pandemic years more people stayed at home (forced) and so you watch more games on TV.. If rinks open up and pandemic rules loosen perhaps some of those TV ratings drops are due to more in person games being watched as 1 factor in that situation.

Certainly not ideal, but they can get by given the way they play. Kochetkov was pretty good before he got sent down and I'm sure he'll be up again when Andersen inevitably gets injured.

Losing Pacioretty was a huge blow, though. They definitely need to add a scoring winger (Meier) at the deadline
Pacioretty is not that big a loss, imo. Nice player, but he’s not a winner.

Ratings are down? 3/4 of the season is meaningless and there are no rivalries. We need more of this….click to view in twitter.

I'll be honest, blackouts are dumb as hell. So stupid when TSN or whatever has another canadian team playing on a Leafs day off and I can't watch because of a regional blackout so I'm forced to go on a 3rd party website to stream the game. Doubt viewership is really that bad because I'm sure a lot of people do the same thing and probably do it just to watch the ESPN or TNT broadcast over TSN or Sportsnet at times. At the same time though, the players passion during games just doesn't seem to be there most nights until playoffs and a lot of buildings sound dead until playoffs and with playoff matchups pretty much decided by christmas just turns people off and ruins viewing experience imo.

I am guessing the NHL is trying to force us to buy the Center Ice package, but blackouts are the dumbest thing in sports. Unless your plan is to shrink your fanbase.

I hated it when it was in the NFL but at least it was a regional blackout where you couldn't watch home games locally if the game wasn't sold out. Even that was atupid and the NFL quickly got rid of it.

Zero thought put into scheduling, especially for those not living in the Eastern time zone.

And the current playoff system means that most of the league has next to nothing to play for beyond US thanksgiving (especially this season when we more or less know the Atlantic playoff matchups too).

Though I watch probably 80+ % of my games streaming on ESPN+ not sure if those are counted in the viewership totals

I don’t believe streamed games on ESPN+ are included, however do they count the national games on TNT and ESPN streamed on those particular apps.
For e.g., I just watched Fishy Aho score on TNT app and have the Leafs on TV…..howam I counted?
