Kind of want Boston to win... hate both teams but for Leafs sake and home ice.

Of course so far Tampa is winning... only 1-0 but Vali is playing great.

Hagel this year is starting to look like a guy that's a lot more dangerous.

I thought the trade was terrible at the time and is still really steep but he could become more of an x factor now. He's putting up a decent amount of points this year.

meh, OT doesn't really matter outside of giving TB a point. It's not like we're catching Boston lol

Hopefully Boston can win this one way or another

Demko has been awful. I remember reading rumors somewhere that the Canucks could be worried that what is goin on with demko is what happened with schneider (injuries really hurting their play).

That organization's has some serious questions about how it treats injured players...

One game does not a blueprint for TDL moves make, but watching the Tampa/Boston game...btw, good on ya TBL, solid win...makes me pine for acquisitions who will fight hard for every inch of the ice. I'm comfortable with our skill players being as good, if not better than what either of those teams have. I'm less sure that we have the required determination/physically imposing/fierce style players that would help us defeat both teams on a run for the Cup.

My worry is always Vasi as the Bruins found out tonight.

Leafs need to slay the dragon come playoff time.
He's the ultimate trump card, best goalie in the world and it's not really close imo

Boston really struggles against teams with speed and a strong forecheck. Point was flying through their zone and they had trouble containing him. If we meet in round 2 that's something I'm confident we can exploit

Teams that have won in regulation vs Boston:

Ottawa
Florida
Toronto
Arizona State
Seattle
Tampa

Wow they suck vs the Atlantic :sarcasm:
Even Boston has lost to Arizona. It's why you shouldn't freak out losing to Montreal. All part of a 82 game season.
Losing 4 straight to Arizona does sting a bit, but we could have 20 hall of famers and probably still lose to them. They have our number

Sabres are charging hard.

I think they get in while one of the Caps or Pens miss the playoffs.
Does Sullivan lose his job if it's another early exit? Those two cups have bought a lot of run way for him.
Credit to Laviolette though. All kinds of injuries and has them pretty comfortably in a playoff spot. I'm biased though. I have always been a fan of him.

Very hard to say but I think if Pens miss the playoffs then they move on from him.

Lavi has done well with the injuries but messed up when Wilson and Backstrom came back. Ruined lines that were working rather than maybe starting them off in the bottom six for a few games.

I 100% agree .. look at the bottom 6 last night:

McMann-Kampf-Engvall
Kerfoot-Holmberg-Anderson

I like McMann's game, I think he has the tenacity needed. Kampf is rounded and solid. And I like Holmberg's smart defensive play and he's not afraid to be physical. But that's still 2 rookies.

Kerfoot is sort of meh in this mix of players.. just miscast because they need a bit more imposing size/physicality and veteran presence. Engvall is also pretty vanilla, not being as imposing as he could be for his size. But his speed and defensive game are solid. Anderson has some potential but is far from proven as the Leafs rotate that 12th forward in.

I'll be right PO'd if they feel the need to dress Simmonds again. I think Kerfoot could be a salary move if the Leafs upgrade in the top six (Meier?)

Someone mentioned Bjugstad and that might be a solid bottom 6 addition .. if they're set on loading up the top 6 in scoring, the bottom 6 needs to be solid defensively and physical to help swing momentum:

Bunting-Matthews-Nylander
Meier-Tavares-Marner
McMann-Kampf-Jarnkrok
Holmberg-Bjugstad-Engvall

A bit bigger, move physical and solid defensively while adding more punch offensively.
