I am shocked that Bruce got canned this morning. I mean where did that come from, it was so sudden. Nucks sure had the cone of silence.
Despite Hyman always playing on a 5v5 line with Matthews and Marner/Nylander, he didn't put up the same numbers compared to them. I know he wasn't on the #1 power play line, however if you look at his stats with Toronto they weren't at the same rate that got Marner his current contract.Probably. Doubt Hyman was interested in taking a discount because some of the bigger guys didnt.
I watch many Oilers games and Hyman seems to play in the top 6.
Be nice to know his percentage of time per line combination.
Somewhere he's getting pluses.
Yep. I'll never hate on any player doing that. Their life , their career and they have a family to take care of.Term = moneyZach and his agent realized this was his big pay day which in the long term $5 mill for an extra year is a lot to leave on the table
If Hyman re-signed in Toronto, would Kyle Dubas still have signed Bunting?Bunting Matthews Nylander
Hyman Tavares Marner
Would have been a nice top 6.
Honestly, all they need to do is win a few games in the next week or so and all will be forgotten. Can’t believe Jim Rutherford is tarnishing his legacy like this in Vancouver.

Imagine they trade for Bunting at the deadline instead of Foligno or both.Yup. Many on this board were calling for them to sign Bunting months before the playoffs even started.

As well as having attitude problems.Would have cost them virtually nothing. Surprosed Zona did not move him. The move instead of Foligno was Bennett. But Bennett was bad at hockey. Right.
Exactly. You think the media voting on the award would have enough brain power to put some thought into their votes but they clearly dont...
People been saying the Islanders have been getting extremely lucky those 2 years that Lou won it but the media can't see that apparently. Everything screamed that they were overachieving so much. Hell, in 2020 they were on the verge of missing the playoffs but got saved by Covid and Lou still someone won that year cause they went to the conference finals.
Just last draft Lou traded away 13th and 98th overall for Romanov.
Romanov is still young but I don't think there's much upside. Such an unnecessary trade when they could've used those assets for a scoring winger
Speaking of bad trades, that Toews one was a fire worthy offence. Some will say he had to be traded due to the cap situation and the pandemic, but Lou put them in that position with awful signings (lol Komarov and Pageau). Apparently it came down to Leddy or Toews, but they ended up trading Leddy anyway the following summer lmao
I've also heard that with Toews in the mix, someone like Mayfield would've been exposed in the expansion draft. How about you keep talented players and then cross that expansion bridge when you get there? Toews was a rising player and essentially traded for peanuts. Lou went to Sakic and said, "here's Makar's D partner for the next 5 years"
Absolutely brutal trade at the time, and it's 10x worse in hindsight.

No kidding, its why he got less.Despite Hyman always playing on a 5v5 line with Matthews and Marner/Nylander, he didn't put up the same numbers compared to them. If anything Hyman playing with Matthews and Marner at 5v5 is why he got 7 years and $5.5 million from Edmonton as a UFA.No kidding, its why he got less.
Boston is unreal. They are gonna have the presidents trophy locked up in no time then they can just cruise to playoffs and the team will be well rested and ready to play.Another win for Boston.![]()
I highly doubt this is going to happen, but wouldn't it be great if they get swept in the first round like we saw happen to Tampa in 2019, after they won the President's Trophy and their historical regular season.Boston is unreal. They are now at a +81 goal differential. Dallas is second at +43.I highly doubt this is going to happen, but wouldn't it be great if they get swept in the first round like we saw happen to Tampa in 2019, after they won the President's Trophy and their historical regular season.
