Its honestly asinine that Lou won b2b gm of the year awards.
Just goes to show you that award and jack adams is typically the "We expected this team to be shit but they werent" award.
Exactly. You think the media voting on the award would have enough brain power to put some thought into their votes but they clearly dont...GM of the Year is kind of silly because it's such a short sample size for a GM's body of work. They could benefit from a prospect they didn't draft coming up and being a big impact player. Or it's a splashy trade when the rest of the core was in place.
It doesn't consider drafting/developing, cap management, etc. All of these longer term things that really gauge a GM's quality.

People been saying the Islanders have been getting extremely lucky those 2 years that Lou won it but the media can't see that apparently. Everything screamed that they were overachieving so much. Hell, in 2020 they were on the verge of missing the playoffs but got saved by Covid and Lou still someone won that year cause they went to the conference finals.
Just last draft Lou traded away 13th and 98th overall for Romanov.
Hyman’s been the perfect compliment for McDavid and Draisaitl.. good for him.
I don’t know if he has that kind of success had he stayed with the Leafs personally.
For one, he has 12G and 18 PP points on Edmontons stacked unit. He doesn’t get that opportunity with the Leafs.
And it's paying off in spades!
He pretty much does. They are his two most common linemates by far.Hyman doesn't always play with those two though.

Hyman also no longer plays defense. He along with McDavid and Draisaitl give up the most scoring chances and shots against on the team.Hyman’s been the perfect compliment for McDavid and Draisaitl.. good for him.

That's clearly not true, considering that all of his non-EN points were on goals or primary assists from McDavid or Draisaitl.Last night it was Kane/McD/Drai and Hyman/Nudge/Foegele.
Hyman is a great player and is a big loss. I wish him all the best. Was my favourite Leaf along with Nylander (and obviously Matthews).Zack Hyman (1g 3a last night) has as many points as Mitch Marner and goals as Matthews. The guy has turned into a bonafide top 6 forward. That contract may or may not age well but Oilers getting a bargain so far two years in.

Yes. McDavid is #1 and Draisaitl is #2 in his most common linemates. Funny enough, #3, far behind those 2, is also somebody outproducing Hyman.I'm pretty sure you must have the ice time charts?
It's a deliberate plot by Bettman to make sure his favourite teams get some easy wins. It's disgusting how he sucks up to the Canadian teams at the expense of the profitable US teams in traditional hockey markets like Florida and Arizona.Tampa was really bad today and we'll gladly take that L, but man, what's up with the shitty scheduling? Their 3rd game in 4 days was an afternoon start after the other two were night games with travel. I know the Devils also went through this earlier in the season
And the NHL wants to add more games to the season??? Lmao
Another casualty of the Tavares debacle.Hyman’s been the perfect compliment for McDavid and Draisaitl.. good for him.
