The thing that is pissing me off currently about the NHL is how Kane's allegations are just kind of kept hush-hush. Shit like this should be actually addressed and not just kept quiet IMO.

I remember it being discussed quite a bit last year when they were trying to determine if he could be fired without compensation.

Pam Hupp says you have to prove it otherwise it didn't happen.

MSL has them playing some inspired hockey. They'll be better but their roster still isn't that good. Not uncommon to see bad teams go on a season ending run, especially after they get a new coach.

Of course it all depends on what their off-season looks like

MSL has them playing some inspired hockey. They'll be better but their roster still isn't that good. Not uncommon to see bad teams go on a season ending run, especially after they get a new coach.

Of course it all depends on what their off-season looks like

A great example of the anti-Leafs bias on this board is the discussion around Matthews before and after the Leafs won the draft lottery in 2016. Went from your typical hyped potential 1st overall pick to radio silent aside from Leafs fans. Laine also started getting more praise and tire pumping after that, no doubt trying to will him to be better than the consensus 1st overall in Matthews.

You’d think Auston being American would garner more support from the American posters on here but alas, Leafs hate trumps even nationality on here.

Went from your typical hyped potential 1st overall pick to radio silent aside from Leafs fans. Laine also started getting more praise and tire pumping after that, no doubt trying to Will him to be better than the consensus 1st overall in Matthews.

You’d think Auston being American would garner more support from the American posters on here but alas, Leafs hate trumps even nationality on here.

Seems like the Americans are actually pretty happy for Matthews. The other Canadian fans are the most anti-Matthews, especially the Oilers who feel threatened.

My only concern with that matchup is how blatantly dirty they are. I don’t want our guys getting hurt. But I think they are (by far) the weakest team we could match with and our best chance to win a round while also exorcising some demons.

Both these teams look so slow. It’s like watching in 0.75x speed compared to when the Leafs play. We’ve blown past both these team’s coverage over half a dozen times each game we’ve had against them.

If our goaltending holds up and is just average, zero reason why we can’t beat them .

They are definitely in denial.

They said Matthews can’t put up 100 points, he’s going to do that.

They said Matthews can’t put up a better PPG than their stars and he’s doing that and now has a better career PPG than Draisaitl.

Goal scoring? Let’s not even talk about that. Matthews will have a 60 goal season after this year and quite possibly the highest goal scoring season in the 21st century. McDavid or Draisaitl are never getting that no matter how hard they try.

They can cherry pick even more than they do right now and it still won’t matter.

Matthews is better than both combined defensively.

Both teams know how to flip a switch come playoff time. They'll be extremely tough first round opponents. The toughest in the East and maybe in the league IMO.
