Tampa's recent 5 on 5 play has been pretty trash. I bet they'll flip a switch come playoff time, although I think they'll have to rely on Vasy more often this time.

As for Winnipeg, I bet the same "experts" will pick them to be the best team in Canada again next year

Broadcasters making excuses for their season all broadcast. Bad luck, injuries, unexpected coaching change etc etc. Couldn't be that they are actually just a mediocre team that isn't as good as the other playoff teams? Nah of course not.

Watching Vegas crumble to the ground in futility is absolutely fun. Jack Eichel whined about never making the playoffs with Buffalo, always whined in the media and whined about his teammates and management, he was finally traded to a team destined to make the playoffs for sure, now the same fate is happening again. The hockey gods will always smite you if you act that way, never in doubt.

As far as Tampa goes, they been playing like trash for about a month now, itā€™s not just something thatā€™s recently happened in the past week or so. Go look at their win/loss record over the last 30 days.

Iā€™d rather they face Boston in the first round than any other team, I donā€™t think they are as good as they were in the past. Also, I just want redemption.

Toronto and Florida may both struggle in the playoffs though because they simply donā€™t have the goaltending to overcome some of their deficiencies defensively. Weā€™ll see what happens though.

As far as Edmonton goes, they wonā€™t even make it past the first round, they are just an afterthought to every other team and fan outside of Edmonton. Their goaltending is atrocious.

Vegas is such an interesting one for me. They built the team around speed, hard work, two way play and broke into the league shot out of a canon to instant contender status.

Then they slowly took everything that made them great and threw it out the door in favor of 'star power'. So many of their top players were just tossed aside. I get Stone, he fit the mould for them, but Pacioretty/Pietrangelo/Eichel not that they aren't great players but each one brought either baggage or required tossing key players away for cap considerations. Fleury was incredible for them but then one down year (still decent) and they bring in Lehner and kick him to the curb, meanwhile Fleury has clearly been the better of the two since then.

The group of 'misfits' and underdogs that made them great are suddenly either off the team or playing diminished roles. Every single one of them knowing they could be dumped at any moment for the next "star" that comes available. If you're a guy like Marchessault/Smith/Karlsson/Threodore who carried them to early success only to have their roles diminished, names in rumour mills as cap casualties, and friends/teammates who were there beside you unceremoniously kicked aside you have to be impacted by it.

Kicking Gallant to the curb was classless & hurt them big time. I wish we had him as a coach...

Vegas chasing star power killed their depth. Not saying it wasnā€™t worth going for, but they were too aggressive.

Firing Gallant was a mistake too.. and theyā€™ve probably created some negativity towards management with how they handled departing players.

Boston team is woret than the team who beat leafs 3 time

And this leafs team is better than any leafs boston faced in playoff last 20 years.

Shoulf be the perfect matchup for leafa

Boston is also significantly better than the Habs and Jackets teams who beat the Leafs the last 2 years, while the Leafs are not significantly different from those teams that lost.

The Leafs are much better than those teams who lost

Our superstars are on another level and the defense has significantly improved

Is it bad I will be watching this game too...

1- swayman is not even close of price because toronto completly outplayed montreal in every aspect of the game anf the obly reason why they list was because of best goalie performance of last 18 years..

2- toronto didnt come off a 4-5month break to start directly with a best of 5. + Toronto dont still play with a tyson " i cant do anaything good defensivly"barrie on 1st pairing.

A little bizarre to see the mainboard slaggin the Leafs and crowning the Cats after their last game...I mean it went to OT, was basically dead even, and we were on the back end of a back to back. Not to mention we just beat the Cats not long ago.

I am comfortable with any of Boston, Florida or Tampa if I am being honest. I like our chances in any of those 3 series. Goaltending just needs to stay healthy and be average. The skaters are good enough to go all the way.

Iā€™d say the usual ā€œyOu MuSt Be NeW hErEā€ but clearly see that you are in fact, new here. The mains are a toxic wasteland of losers who spend more time thinking about our leafs than they do their own clubs. Itā€™s pretty pathetic.
There are some pretty ridiculously biased leaf posters who go there and give us a bad rep, but itā€™s solely based on the fact weā€™re the largest community here by a mile. Thereā€™s bound to be some loonies.
I do say welcome aboard, and enjoy your time here!
