The trend we’re seeing with ex-Leaf players having success is because we don’t build correctly structured teams during great windows of opportunity and end up having to trade away our top assets.(FYI, I understand that Kadri was suspended. I don’t need to be reminded).

Pick your poison, it’s usually a whole mixture of bad goaltending, grit, heart, fight, scoring, and/or poor player management.

Once again under Dubas we have a huge question mark with goaltending, weak grit, poor bottom 6 forward depth, below average cap/player management.

I want nothing more than for Dubas to succeed. I can’t blame anyone for being upset at what’s happening here in Toronto. It’s not about negativity. We see it as it is RIGHT now.

Goaltending being a questions mark at the stage of the “rebuild” is a legitimate concern, especially given the market of available goalies. I do still believe anything is possible but it’s worrisome.

Yep. Losing is a team effort but Campbell has given the Leafs no chance to win in OT for seasons straight now. Comically bad numbers.

Leafs have had comically bad decision making and luck in OT the past two seasons with the series on the line. Galchenyuk's brain dead pass for which I'll curse him forever, Dermott's stupid spin-o-rama pass, and Matthews falling over leading to a Lightning counterattack that ended up in our net. Absurd.

I can't believe that people are still blaming Campbell - a goalie that exceeded our every wildest expectation when we picked him up, providing goaltending well beyond what we should've gotten for the bargain basement price we could afford to pay.

Colorado has a .892 starter, looks like you can get AHL level goaltending and still make it to at least the cup finals.

Yeah but Dubes bet everything on the core not a career backup. Matty scores in OT in game 6 and who knows how far we go. Truth is if 34 does not score in OT you most likely lose.

Game 5 vs the Habs: So early that nothing else happened. Brutal pass by Galchenyuk

Game 6: Leafs completely dominated and had multiple odd man rushes (Kerfoot saved on 2 on 1). Dermott makes that play 99% of time. The KK goal went off Bogosian, too. Crappy luck + Price

Game 6 vs Tampa: Leafs had some glorious chances including Kerfoot partial break and Mikheyev in a great spot. Matthews fell but the D played that poorly

Tampa are true champs, if they go down they deserve RESPECT. LOL. Sorry, couldn't resist. But very impressive run if they do lose considering they've been missing one of their top 4 skaters in Brayden Point since the first round. It was Point that scored for the Lightning in OT in game 6, they could have used that tonight.

Can't wait to see the Avs finish this, for a few reasons.

1) I always liked Colorado back in the early 2000s, and I like them now too
2) I'll be happy for Naz
3) Tampa's run, as impressive as it is, has lasted long enough
4) Jon Cooper ran his mouth all series when we played Tampa, talking crazy about the Leafs. So I really want to see that arrogant windbag get humbled

That’s too black and white.

Goaltending is much more than just a save percentage. Plus, it’s a team sport, include all the other factors I mentioned. A goalie alone won’t be the saving grace.

Pretty impressive for Tampa to return to the cup final after 2 cups. Just the Avs are too much they are fast and hungry. Tampa is just running out of gas.

You had a whole post complaining that we don't have a good goaltender, just pointing out Colorado doesn't either.

He said something crazy about the Leafs?

Based of Coopers media avail, he knows its over. The Lightning arent winning 3 in a row against Colorado. Tampa finally ran into a team thats better.
They haven’t been out played in a playoff series since CBJ. They have a ton of guys hurting or injured.
