Brown is a knockoff Shane Doan. Looking forward to the Shane Doan statue at ASU.
Magic, Gretzky, Kareem, West, Shaq, Dustin Brown? Who is out of place here?
Putting a Brown statue would be like putting a Fowler statue if he finishes his career here (Brown has the Captaincy even though they pulled it from him vs. Fowler is a better player and will be for longer/longevity IMO). About even.
jersey retired vs statue is completely different to me.They haven't gone that far yet, but I bet you can guess which Ducks source is already openly debating having his jersey retired.

Maybe I’m ignorant but I have no idea who would be debating that. Surely not Stephens?
He is as much of a source as anyone on HFBoards. If they give Cam Fowler a statue I'll be on here posting the same thing I am about Dustin Brown.CJ Woodling said they were talking about it in the Crash the Pond discord (it gives me a chance to try and dunk on them). He leans toward yes for 4 hanging in the rafters someday and it being automatic if he wins a cup because he's going to have an insurmountable lead in most franchise D categories, which is a big stretch for me. I love Cam, he's been a good soldier, but that's an honor that the franchise hasn't even given Giguere yet (despite his number unofficially being out of circulation since his retirement) who is probably the bar for non-HHOFers getting the jersey retired.
hell if they even consider retiring fowler's # i'd react the same wayHe is as much of a source as anyone on HFBoards. If they give Cam Fowler a statue I'll be on here posting the same thing I am about Dustin Brown.
That is some hardcore lashing out from Kings fans trying to justify the Dustin Brown statue on the mainboards LOL
I just imagined them thinking to themselves how devastating it was going to be to bring up the Wild Wing statue as they high fived the Drew Doughty FatHead on the wall and then loading up their HD DVD copy of the 2012 Stanley Cup Finals.
Their defense is basically "it's not the most embarrassing thing anyone's ever done," which is a pretty bad spot to be in if that's your STARTING point. That is some hardcore lashing out from Kings fans trying to justify the Dustin Brown statue on the mainboards LOL

Games played is the only stat King fans are using..... And that he was captain (even though he was stripped of it). Definitely statue worthy.Their defense is basically "it's not the most embarrassing thing anyone's ever done," which is a pretty bad spot to be in if that's your STARTING point.

i think he will eventually since they didn't issue #35 to gibson and that's the # he had worn his entire careerI don’t think Giguere should have his number retired. Hall of famers only or at least guys who were on track to be in the Hall at some point (Perry)
And hits. They like to talk about how he hit a lot of people and how important that was for the two cups. More important than Kopitar’s elite two-way play, Quick playing out of his mind in goal, Doughty playing 30 minutes a night on D, or Justin Williams clutch scoring.Games played is the only stat King fans are using..... And that he was captain (even though he was stripped of it). Definitely statue worthy.
I think Perry is going to sneak into the Hall at some point due to his full resume and continuing to at least help teams get to the finals in his mid/late 30s. At one point before he was bought out he was definitely trending away from the Hall.I don’t think Giguere should have his number retired. I always thought that was a silly standard for jersey retirements. No reason to restrict a team-specific honor to a league-wide standard. It's not even necessarily a higher standard. I mean we've had players who were better than Dick Duff but I wouldn't necessarily retire all of their jerseys. We putting Chris Kunitz up there? We could, if HHOF was the standard.I don’t think Giguere should have his number retired. Hall of famers only or at least guys who were on track to be in the Hall at some point (Perry)

It's not the only standard but I like that its included. Jersey retirement should be incredibly exclusive so best to make the standard as high as reasonably possible. The five we're looking at is as great of a standard as any in the league IMO.
