Solar arrays in Seattle. Have you ever been to Seattle in the fall/winter? The sun goes down in October and doesn't rise again until April.
Everyone I knew from Seattle who went to school here had a problem given they were conditioned that when the sun was out they had to get out and do something and they didn’t have much time for studying.

Damn, they are talking two feet of snow, that is more than we got in Chicago 10 years ago, and everything shut down, Lake Shore Drive looked like something out of a post-Apocalyptic movie. Plus, remember that the Denver airport is nowhere close to downtown (they needed room to build the massive underground bunkers :) ). I am guessing that we will probably hear something pretty soon that the games aren't happening, especially with the Kings playing in LA on Monday. Either that or they move them to LA, Staples is available Saturday and Sunday, but that would put the Kings on 3 games in 3 days, so that might not be a go either.

I was supposed to layover in Denver on Sunday to avoid going to two of the worst places on Earth (LAX or O'Hare) but I just changed my flight and leaving from O'Hare to John Wayne. Bummer.

Yup. I live in Seattle now. I was called and asked if I was interested in solar panels. I said "I'm all about clean energy, but do you offer wind turbines or hydro power?"
Yeah, I have an idea of the location of the arena and you would think they might be more into electricity generated by the tides or at least hydro-electricity from a dam.

I avoid Chicago O'Hare and Denver airports like the plague as connection cities. Nothing good happens in those places in the winter.

I've been stranded in Denver twice before , although only one was weather. No direct flights from Milwaukee to OC but like a million to Denver, so that is where I usually end up connecting. The weather might be a factor in Denver, but horrific traffic is always a factor at LAX so I take my chances with weather. Plus I never miss the chance to walk around and see the creepy murals.

And the Kings have already left for Denver, in before the storm and I guess they will be able to get out Monday morning. The fact that there are no fans anyways probably saves this.

I looked this up recently specifically because I was impressed with the Climate Pledge Arena's setup. I was pretty surprised that most of the articles I found quoted Seattle's solar output to be somewhere between 66-80% of coastal California cities. I know many of these articles are trying to sell the region on solar when hydro or wind might be better suited, but still interesting.
San Francisco has almost 3x as many clear sunny days than Seattle as well much longer days in winter, but projected generation rates in Seattle are only a third less.

PDOcast podcast just mentioned that the Leafs might be looking at Iafallo along with Granlund. Rakell and Forsberg were listed as ideal targets but too expensive. I hadn't thought about it, but I definitely think Iafallo is a Dubas-style player.

They also mentioned that they didn't think that the Kings were going to trade AI (which I agree with), but that's interesting.

I don't think coastal California is a great idea for solar either. You have to go inland to the IE. Solar makes more sense from the IE heading east all the way to Phoenix and on to New Mexico probably.

Damn the abomination of them Stars jerseys are in full bloom. My goodness those are hideous.

Only 4 more years after this one at $8m a season for 28 year old Ryan Johansen and $8 for the next 5 for 30 year old Matt Duchene.

They'll get a nice return for Josi and Forsberg, but that thing needs to be blown up like the Kings were after 06.

And they're paying Kyle Turris 2M per year for the next 7 years.

You're probably right, but hiring Hynes was a huge mistake. They could have at least been a bubble team in the central with a halfway decent coach.

I’m old enough to remember when certain members of this board use to attack Kopitar and use Johanson and his “great contract” as proof Kopitar is overpaid.
