It's just another weapon to add for the streaming wars, that will intensify even more than they already have in the coming years. I read that the WWE is moving their network/streaming service to Peacock, so those are 2 pretty big additions for ESPN and Peacock.

I already have the Disney/ESPN bundle , so this is good news, will save $100 a year on NHL.TV

I wonder how much longer cable has left, probably longer than I think since its such an institution for so many, especially older people.
What is this "cable" thing of which you speak? You spend money to get TV programs?

I still have DISH and prefer it to all the streaming services. The whole allure of it was supposed to be saving money but you have to sign up for a zillion services if you want to see everything so we are going to wind up not saving money while having to exit various apps to get to the next one. Oh cool...it is making me sign in again for some reason haha.

Will be interesting to see what happens when DTV doesn't have Sunday Ticket anymore.
I quit DISH not too long ago. Trust me, even with having multiple streaming services, I still save about 50% off what I was paying DISH.

Switching apps does take some getting used to, and there is no return to previous channel, but you miss nothing if you record a series on fubotv or YouTubeTV.

The thing that I hate most about the streaming services vs. cable or satellite is the delay. I have to turn my phone to silent when I watch college football because I've had the results spoiled for me. I have to wait for commercial breaks to vent about Harbaugh in my group texts. Happens here to if following a game thread. I have NHL.TV on the app and I am a good 30-45 seconds behind you guys commenting on the game. To put it in hockey terms, I feel like MacD and you guys are McD.
So when Michigan loses on the last play of the game, it kind of kills the suspense for you if your phone is nearby.

I know the feeling. I had friends texting me about ASU returning the opening kickoff for a TD against Arizona last season before I saw it on my TV screen. At least it was good news though.

Yeah. I already have a Hulu/Spotify combo, Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBO and whatever Youtube Red is called now. My issue with Fubo et al is that most of them have wound up dropping FSW/PT and then there is always something that I want that one lacks but the other has. During football season, I have to at least have RedZone and I want NHL Network.

I'm "only" 40 but I yearn for the good old days when my local team was on cable/Dish and so was pretty much every channel that was out there.

Did you end up going to NHL.tv with unlocator?

I have ESPN+ for their articles as here in Canada I cannot stream there stuff. Also we pay for Disney+ for the kids. I am hopeful someday this will lead to NHL content north of the border.

Yeah, this is a good point. Right now the only streaming service I know of carrying FSW/PT is AT&T. FSW/PT is going to have to get with the times though, and be available on other steaming services if they want their content to be available and viewed by the most people.

My parents still have DTV so I've been using their credentials to use the FS Go app on my Firestick. App sucks if you aren't live but the start times this year have been conducive to me being there so it hasn't been a huge issue. PQ is much better on the app through the 4K stick than the games I've had to watch on KCOP or NBCSN, which is pretty funny.

Sinclair is supposedly going to have its own streaming service under the Bally's moniker. Maybe in 2022 I think.

Sharks and kane may terminate contract.

Guy is a douche off the ice, but guy is skilled on the ice. Be interesting to see what happens here.

Bankruptcy is a really complex area of law. Kane's situation brings up a ton of side issues. Immigration, NV criminal law, and so forth.

Also Kane was paid $2 million more via signing bonuses and front loading of his contract than the AAV. So there are some cap issues even if his contract is voided/terminated.

The regional sports network thing is just so backwards and ridiculous, it still amazes me that the leagues were so powerless to do anything about it.

I remember a couple of years ago one of my buddies from back home coming to visit me when I was living in Chicago and one of the things he was most excited about was being able to watch the Dodgers on TV.

Right now I jump through less hoops to see the Angels and Kings than many of you do, and I live 2k miles away.

The last play? Shit after last year, I’ll just be happy if the game is competitive in the 2nd half.

Man I forgot how awesome the NHL on ESPN theme is

NHL on ESPN and NBA on NBC the GOATS of themes.

i cannot believe how badly edmonton is beating ottawa. this is the worst shellacking ive ever seen. this game needs a mercy rule

If both games get snowed out and then tacked on at the end of the year... The kings finish with 2 with Colorado as it is. 4 in a row would be like a playoff series.
