no man, you got it all wrong...it all about the pointzzz! Minus 22, no problem if you put up 70-80 pointz.

To be fair, I do agree that offense is harder to create than defense and a good team will create an environment to capitalize on those talents.

However, players creating offense at the expense of defense--especially to the degree that you can go PPG and still end up with the most goals against you in the last decade--is much, much less impressive.

VGK-SJS isn't as crazy tonight, unfortunately

to the surprise of no one only goal so far scored with EK roaming and losing and watching his guy get the puck in the slot and score

Anyone remember what the mid 90's were like for the Kings?

The Sharks are about to go down that path, alot of the 93-94 Kings in this years Sharks. And it's not going to get better with so many guys on the wrong side of 30. How Doug Wilson has been employed for 15 years I will never ever know.

From 03-04 to 18-19, they had the top pts% in the league, averaged the 5th most goals per game, and averaged the fewest goals against per game. They also played in the most playoff games, with the 2nd most playoff wins(most losses too). Missed the playoffs once in that time. Lost in the 1st round 4 times, got to the 3rd round 5 times, and the Final once.

No Cup, obviously. Other than Vegas at #2, the next 3 teams in pts% have a Cup. 6 of the next 7 have a Cup, although Tampa's came way back. Oddly enough, the one other team that high in the rankings is Nashville at #6, and they also have a GM that will never go away or be fired.

I guess the question comes down to, what's the job of a GM? Is it Cup or bust? If you throw a team out there, year after year, that is in the mix, does that count for anything?

Just listened to a CBC front burner podcast with Carcillo. Pretty powerful stuff.

Also reading more about Akim Aliu. I remember him standing up for hazing when it happened and not thinking much of it. I remember thinking it was just a entitled millennial kid not respect those who have set the path before him. After reading the Athletic and understanding more of what actually went down, compiled with the front burner podcast that touched on a lot of different hazing in developmental years, I definitely had that situation backwards.

Hopefully this crap has changed

I think a lot of internet GM's miss that there are other responsibilities to being a GM. Sure, it's easy for everyone on here to say that teams should just tank for half a decade to hopefully luck into a generational prospect that hopefully pans out. Not realizing that a lot of teams, especially those in non traditional markets, need to keep fan engagement up and can't afford to risk a decade of failure. The "process" is a perfect example, during their tanking years they were at the bottom of the league in attendance. Even a traditional, established NBA franchise couldn't easily deal with prolonged tanking.

I have a hard time taking Carcillo seriously when you hear about the things that he did to everyone else. A lot of people have come forward and said that he was the one perpetrating all of the bullying/hazing. Go listen to Biz talk about how Carcillo would pay him to let Carcillo shoot him with paintballs. The guy was a shitty person and seems to be deflecting his shame onto others. I have never heard him once apologize for all of the horrible shit he has done, he just spends his time trying to point his finger at everyone else.

Carcillo agrees. He doesn’t really want to say it, because his parents might read this, but he wants to be honest.
“Write that,” he says. “If you’re going to write this stuff, I was an abuser, I was a bully, I was a racist, homophobic, piece of f------ s---.”

Daniel Carcillo admits he was an abuser, a bully and worse, but the former NHLer has stories to tell and a past he wants to make amends for | The Star

Well, that's good to hear. It was getting to be a little annoying hearing him talk about how horrible every single other person was without any retrospection. I still can't stand hearing him lecture everyone else, but at least he admits to being the thing he is accusing everyone else of being.

Even with the disclaimer he's a bit sanctimonious at times but yeah he's pretty much sending the message "see me? yeah, don't be me."

Guess which team is prepping to announce their worst contract is going on LTIR?

So the Blackhawks get out of a cap circumventing deal with Hossa's allergies, now they have a medical issue with Seabrook and his anchor of a contract?

New CBA should have a provision that, if a player is LTIR for longer than x number of months, the team is no longer allowed to go over the cap by the player's cap hit.

And people say they couldn't pull this with Carter and/or Quick, not that they need to at this point.
