The amount of hate some on here have for Forbort is completely disproportional to the negatives he brought us. He was entirely unspectacular and should have only been with doughty on the penalty kill, but some people act like he was responsible for the downfall of our Dcore.

Nice moves, but not much of an effort by the Schenn in the neutral zone. He could have easily taken the middle of the ice away from Horvat if he just would have put his head down and skated hard to the middle of the ice in his own zone. Pretty dumb play on his part.

Yeah, been there done that ad nauseum for too many years in Philly. He's got a lazy streak in him a mile wide. But grateful the Blues overpaid and Flyers have Konecky and Frost.

Horvat is really turning into a leader in Vancouver, he's earning that C on every shift. Great game by him and he's been strong in the playoffs. Quinn is realliy good , you add Boeser and Pettersson....terrific young core.

Quinn with 5 games in a row with points, 2nd all time for rookie D men. 1 more. he ties Al Macinnis (1984) and Zarley Zalapski (1989) with 6.

Man, the Islanders are a well coached team. They rarely make a mistake and do all the little things correctly. Trotz has done a great job with them.

It's hard to believe that Hughes is 20, also hard to believe that he lasted to the 7th pick. Such a rare combination of skating and smarts, he looks a lot like Brian Leetch.

Horvat is a total beauty, remember that in juniors too. Was always wondering about his offensive upside, figured he'd be a Shane Doan, glad he's already that minus the hijinks. Perfect, steady force.

And yeah can't say enough about Hughes, meteoric learning curve reminds me of Doughty's growth between year 1 and 2.

It's also fun to be able to cheer them on, I haven't really enjoyed the Blues at all since Binnington picked up the smug douche act and those Clifford antics, and David Perron has really amped up the shit baggery.

Doughty had his best year (points) with Forbort. Not to mention the Kings had the leagues best D and PK.

Canes got jobbed on this 'call'. Krug skates backwards and trips, Teuvo Teravainen got called for interference on this play. Bruins got a PP to tie game with 3 seconds left.

Horrible call

If they called that on a regular basis, Brown would draw 20 more penalties a year.

How about Vilardi and other assets (a 1st next year maybe)?

Edit: Whoa! Just saw NHL rumors in another closed thread...

With the time and money they put into Vilardi to get back to playing hockey, there's no way he's being moved. especially just to move up one spot.. I would put him on the untouchable list.

I somehow doubt Forbort was the reason why Doughty had his most productive season playing with him. Kopitar and Brown also had career years that season as well.

That said, he was fine his first couple seasons here, then his performance took a nose dive and he got less and less engaged physically and was a disaster when the puck was on his stick. He wasn’t playing with any confidence or with any authority in his own end.

Doughty’s struggles are his own fault as well. He has looked disengaged for the better part of the last two seasons, though we saw glimpses of him playing like he cared from time to time last season. Thank God for the emergence of Matt Roy. Even Kurtis MacDermid got better as the season went on, and Walker could be another Alec Martinez.

Believe it or not, this season the Kings gave up less goals than Calgary, Vancouver, Edmonton, Nashville and Minnesota. All “playoff” teams. They’ll be fine without Forbort.

Dumb argument. I didn't say that, just that Forbort obviously wasn't holding Doughty back -- something others were claiming.

What does that have to do with anything I wrote? So Forbort is why Doughty had his most productive season and the reason why Calgary is in the playoffs. Dumb argument.

Doesn't change the fact...my favorite goal posting shifting comment. Love it.

Forbort had a huge impact on Doughty's scoring that year. I mean, out of his 10 goals, Forbort assisted on 1 of them. And out of his 50 assists, Forbort had a second assist on two of them. Out of Doughty's 60 points Forbort was involved in a whopping 3 of them.

People forget that Drew played just over 1,000 minutes with Forbort that season, but also played around 800 with Muzzin (604) and Martinez (178). Throw in the other defense guys and he was actually with Forbort less than half the time. Despite playing 400 minutes less with him, Muzzin assisted on 3 of Drew's goals and had first or seconds on 6 of his assists. Drew also assisted on 4 of Muzzin's goals. Hell, Martinez played under 200 minutes with Drew and still found a way to better Forbort's contributions.

Forbort was an anchor. Doughty's CF% with him was 43.12, right there with juggernauts like Brooks Laich, Torrey Mitchell, Nate Thompson, and Kurtis MacDermid. Doughty's CF% without Forbort? 61.38%. If Drew doesn't play a minute with Forbort that season he's got another easy Norris and we witness the best season by a Kings defensmen ever.

Outside of his 14 game call-up, Forbort sucked when he wasn't on the PK. Good riddance.

Holtby looks cooked and Kovy looks pissed that he isn’t playing for the Habs. You gotta think the Caps go to the second goalie in game 3.

Maybe the same happens with StL. Binnington is looking like the new Cam Ward, but Jake Allen still a major loser during the playoffs.

Raask has decided to head home. TOugh for B's, Raask left them in a tough spot, doing this now. I had the Canes in series, but this will make it a bit easier. I wonder how pissed off his teammates are
