That's what I mean. Between cap hit, term, age, play, and/or assets traded, it's easier to just sign a guy and hope he has a good year than to invest any or all of the above in Quick. Even if Quick was good last year, I would bet it's still tough to trade him.
I'm not surprised, I haven't thought Quick was going anywhere since his trade value started being talked about.
I agree with you but I never thought the Flames were a spot for Quick. So what they do or do not do has little impact on Quick's value IMO.
