I remember when Ducks fans were saying that Blake was crazy for hiring WD. I guess the kings got the last laugh.

I can't help but believe that Murray assumed the coaching duties because they didn't want to pay for an interim coach.
Unless I'm mistaken, he has no coaching experience.
GoodTarasenko wins the game in OT and scores a hat trick to put the Blues eight points ahead of the Kings.
It’s going to be a tough hill to climb to get to that last wild card spot.

WD is a not a good HC. He really has no feel for the job. He has made a ton of mistakes with how he handles players. I don't think the Kings will be laughing but the Ducks fans are definitely stupid. I will reserve laughter once I see who they hire and who we hire because it won't be WD.
A GM deciding to take over the coaching duties of an under performing team half way through a season or the last quarter of a season used to be quite common back in the 60's and 70's. Murray should be able to see first hand who the passengers and leaders are on the Ducks. The only problem he faces GMs didn't have to deal with back then are long-term guaranteed contracts. Was my first thought upon seeing it, "no Bob, we're not paying for another coach right now."
Let's him see firsthand who is being a **** up, buys some time to contemplate on a coach.

I found it telling that Murray put all the kids back in SD. That could be a sign of real trouble in the locker room. It will be interesting to see how the players come out in their next game. Right now, the Kings are a much better team.
Not that they may not have issues in the locker room, but who else would they send down as expensive veterans got healthy?
Makes sense for Murray to get behind the bench, still will be funny to see him back there making lineup decisions with that roster mix in Anaheim.
Dallas Eakins is rumored to be a frontrunner...
And i wonder how many bodies will be moving out...
Canes/Kings= After watching the last few Canes games, I can see why there are rumors that they are looking to Quick and possibly TT.
NHL network guys were raving about Canes goaltending yesterday.
And I get that, as Mrazek and McElhinney have both played well, esp lately Mzarek. And I appreciate all they've done, putting the Canes in a playoff area, however, I don't see either as being elite enough to withstand a deep run. I think they're both pretty good, but don't see them as long term solutions.
And I guess it depends on how comfortable they are with Alex Nedeljkovic taking over and they have a kid Booth who looks to be a good future started but is a couple years out, I'd guess. A few weeks ago, before they went on the 13=5 run they are on now, Varmalov and Bob (along with QUick) were possibilities.
Now, it would seem they might not trade Ferland, so I guess it depends on how they view their team and the net, closer to the deadline.
I'll always love it because it's the horn we won two cups with. The horn before will always be my favorite though because it's the one I grew up with and I like that it has more bass. The train horn is more unique, but the old horn is very powerful.Been watching a bit of hockey lately, do the Kings have the worst goal horn in hockey? It's just awful. Makes me cringe and my ears hurt when I'm at Staples.
