They replaced Guy with Marc Crawford. I’m sure that will go over great.

Crawford has been a joke coach for only about 20 years now. This really calls for the what year is it meme.

He had the worst media/communication/social skills out of everyone that gets in front of cameras regularly (Broadcast, GM, Coach, team captains, etc.)
Everything that came out of his mouth was a straight lie, made no sense, or made him look incompetent.

It was fine when the team was winning. We can laugh at him staring at boobs during the finals and his every building is a tough building line.

It was hell when the team was doing bad and he comes out with crap like
"Its not my (Coach's) job to teach the players"
"I put out the best lineup to win every game" immediately before starting Brodeur over Schnieder.

He also didn't understand players' abilities. He'll demand aggressive/risky pinches when his lineup consists of Colin White, Anton Volchenkov, Mark Fraser, and OMG.

Who the hell cares what he says to the media. Every time Pete was given an average to good roster his team 9 times out of 10 made the playoffs and competed. He is a win now coach and a good one. He could easily have two cups. Also, his teams get up to play for him.

Not that I can confirm this, but I would bet he's turned down assistant coaching jobs before in the NHL, as he never coached in the NHL in any capacity between his Lightning and Senators head coaching stints.

Maybe this time he might accept an assistant position, if he doesn't leave to go be a head coach in Europe again.

I'd be all for hiring him to coach the PP over Kowalsky next year.

You're really exaggerating this point. John MacLean and Brent Sutter weren't exactly media-savvy either, at least Pete wouldn't you know and mumble down people to death.

Look a big problem with Pete is he was here when for the first time in two decades winning no longer was the bottom line, and he got the brunt of it. Nobody wanted to hear that 'we tried hard' after two decades of winning being the only thing that mattered.

I know our front office gets a lot of **** sometimes but at least they have never been as tone deaf to show a Parise or Kovy tribute video, that whole video tribute segment was ridiculous lol

I remember there were a few Devils fans here prior to the Kings (and Kovy) visiting the Rock where they wouldn't mind a video tribute for Kovy.

Just a thought... when's the last time there was a video tribute for someone who willingly left? I thought they tended to be for players who were traded away, but possibly wanted to stay.
