Why the heck would they move Bob now after going all in trading for Duchene and Dzingel?!

If he was their clear cut #1, I'd agree with you but that hasn't been the case this year and from what I can gather, he seems to be a cancer in their lockeroom.

That may be but you gotta get a better guy than KK to replace him, a bad Bob is still a better win now option than Keith.

Korpikoski has been their #1 guy for a while now and has split duties with Bob this year. Columbus might have a bigger deal in place that would include Bob+ and the fact that he seems to be somewhat of a cancer in that dressing room might be plus for them... who knows.

So someone noted that Nashville got Granlund in addition to Boyle and Simmons.

Looks like they are going to try to slug themselves to a title on the the forecheck and riding the D and Rinne. Not a lot of high speed creativity here. But there wasn’t in L.A. either for two cups.

Who knows could be their year. Their strategy doesn’t really get old and every so often turns up a winner. They will have to slow down faster and more creative teams to make the finals.

I hope Nashville does win a Championship as I want to see Boyle raise the Cup this year.

That would be a reason to back Nashville. Certainly they are now an even more physically imposing team. (If they can make a series a beat down, they should hang in any series). Not because of that, because it really doesn't strictly apply to the old Devils teams, but they are probably the club that resembles our old cup winners from the 90s and 2000s the most.

Four good clubs out west: Sharks, Winnipeg, Nashville and Vegas. Winnipeg and Vegas very much improved themselves at the deadline. Hayes should add a deal of balance for Winnipeg; the huge question for them, what will Byfuglien's condition be? They won't win unless he's 100% ready to go.

Bleed is right to question San Jose's goaltending. And Vegas too (Fleury has seen too much action for two successive years), though Stone is a game changer for them. They are much more dangerously skilled.

It's amazing to me how many fans of all teams are insecure and afraid to try to win. Reading the main boards yesterday was a reminder of just how scared fans are and how they lack perspective. Every time a secondary player was announced as part of a trade, it was a mixture of interest and fear. "Please don't be......" "Hopefully ...... isn't in on him" etc. This from fans of good teams. The insecure fans seem to think that they should get a top line rental player for a second round pick and a B- prospect or lower round add in. Other than a top line player they'd rather keep their B+ prospects and second round picks without regard for what it might mean for the team's makeup or locker room mood, even for a solid second line player. Basically, if my team isn't an overwhelming cup favorite, it's not even worth trying. Kind of sad.

Korpi isnt NHL caliber yet. And seems you were wrong, Bob stays. Which was the obvious choice.

What was lame was one of them saying they've got the BEST COACH in Barry Trotz.:laugh::laugh::laugh:

What's lame about that part? I can't really argue with Quenneville if you want to put him above Trotz, but technically you could argue Trotz is the best coach currently with a job.

i would say trotz>mustacheman at this point. he’s done more with less talent (nashville and NYI) than Q did in chicago
