I keep forgetting to watch this damn tournament, I always remember to turn it on as each games ends.

LOL buzzer ends and team canada is like yeeeeah whatever I guess I'll just throw my gloves down and glide to congratulate my teammates. Most whatever celebration ever.

For some reason I thought Silver and Bronze medals would be handed out; then I realized this wasn't the Olympics and felt super bad for Kopi/Gabi.

ugh that sucked - Europe totally deserved that game.

Took a weak Perry dive to draw the tying PP and get Kopi off the ice.

Canada backed into that one for sure.

If you include that, that would be..
2xOlympic Gold
2x Stanley Cup
1x World Championship
1x World Cup
1x Norris

It's funny to me that the Triple Gold Club in hockey requires a player to win the World Championship Gold. That's not a desirable tournament for NHL players, mainly because it means their team simply wasn't good enough to make the playoffs or wasn't good enough to play beyond the first round, which sadly very may likely be the case with the Kings next season.

The longer the Lindholm saga goes on, the more crap Ducks fans will have to deal with. They are going to have to endure the same crap proposals we had to when Doughty was unsigned. It's amusing reading some of it, but man I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

just a few random notes about world cup. i've watched most of the exhibition and tourney games.

1. team europe: coach Ralph Krueger! he is a beast. check his wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ralph_Krueger and "Who is Ralph Krueger and why isn't he coaching in NHL?" at http://www.usatoday.com/story/sport...world-cup-southampton-football-club/91240876/

my question about krueger is: why are all the coaching seats in nhl reserved for north americans only? in the whole history of nhl almost all the coaches were from us or canada. maybe 10 of non north american guys made it to the assistant coach position, and that's it. pure protectionism. give other guys a chance and you will be positively surprised.

2. lak players: overall i think they did very well. kopi was huge for team europe, beast mode in september. quick, doughty, gaborik, muzzin, they all played very well. that's one of the reasons why i'm optimistic about next season.

3. gaborik. i tell you something, he is becoming my favorite lak player. what i fancy most is his anticipation where the puck will be, his positioning, his time and space iq. he is one of the best in his generation when it comes to this, maybe just a step behind gretzky in overall standings. but that's also a tragic gift, as his body is made of glass and so far he didn't learn how to be conservative about this huge talent that he's got. gabi, get well soon!

ps. i'll have to skip some hockey now. in a few days i'm going to spain to walk the camino of santiago, starting from seville it will be a +1.000km hike. i promise i will light 3 candles when i get to santiago de compostela, one for lak team, one for lak fans, and one for gabi. have fun, see you soon, gkg!

He's no Doughty.
