While I think the Oilers should rebuild the rebuild, I'm not sure draft picks are the return they should be looking for unless they then use those for trade bait. Their scouting department is 100% pure garbage

I like it assuming we use the First as a trade bait.

I think Draft picks are a more fluid asset than players, its hard to make a hockey deal because you need a team that has an abundance of what you want and they need to have a fit for you player AND their contract; Say you have a Lamborghini, but want a house, it would be rather tough to find someone interested in trading their house for you Lambo. They need to want a Lambo, and have multiple houses they dont want. It would be much easier for you to trade your Lambo for its net worth in Cash (a liquid asset), and then you can easily trade that cash for a house on a bigger market of available houses (the home owner doesn't have to be looking for a lambo) with a smaller amount of hassle having to be made over the fine details of the trade.

No one would trade a center for Perron, especially not a center we would want at this time of the year, but someone might trade a Center for a 1st round pick.

But knowing this management team we'll probably just draft an overager, play him in the NHL next year, and have him bust out for nothing.

Nope. As much as I like the Isles and they're a very good team, adding Perron gives the pens the edge, when healthy , that might be the best top 6 in the EC.
I think the Bolts are the best team in the East and they do have the talent , depth, goaltending and d to get to the SCF.

Which is why the Habs are hot for Yandle and almost made a deal a couple days back, rumor has it. That Bergevin is going to do whatever it takes to land Yandle. They are going to make whatever moves they can to amp up, and also are looking for a center, according to the media up there.
If they land Yandle, that would make a big difference.

The Islanders probably have the best forward depth in the East. In fact we have Grabner coming back from injury and have no spot for him at the moment. It's hard to find someone to bench.

Watching the Isles control the play is similar to what the Kings did in the latter half of the 2012 season. The Isles Fenwick is in the top three at the moment. Plus Halak has been the solidifying goalie the Isles have lacked in forever. He has won 17 straight if you take away the two games against the Blues.

I pray the Isles meet the Kings for the Cup. I want one last hurrah at the old Barn. Plus I am saving now for playoff tickets. I am not missing a single post season game if possible.

I did just that in 2012 and no regrets. My savings account took an absolute beating but it was worth it

Girgensons and five Hawks are the first six picked for the All-Star game. ****ing gross.

LMAO five??? NHL's golden children get picked first I guess. Kane and Toews I get but the rest....

I wonder if Kopi's dog is the only Slovenian dog with his own twitter. Types pretty good for not having thumbs

Gustl Kopitar
‏@GustlTweets RT TODAY! Please bring dog blankets, toys, treats, etc to @LAKings game! #LAKings wives/GFs will be collecting! #GKG

Devils beating the Flyers 5-1 after 2, Jagr with the Hatrick. He needs 6 more goals to pass Esposito for #5 in goals all time (717)
Jagr has 1777 pts.

Jagr now the oldest player in nhl history to record a Hatrick , previous record was Gordy Howe (age 41)

I wonder if he ever regrets the years he lost.

And I wonder what team will trade for him in March.

**** the Hawks and **** Girgensons. Giant nobody doesn't deserve to be anywhere near the All-Star game.

And before any rival fans come in here and say how I'm butt hurt, I could care a less about the All-Star game. I've stated numerous times how I wish none of the Kings went. Don't want our stars getting injured in some meaningless game.

Rick DiPietro says hello.

6-2 Blues in San Jose. Time for the 4 goal comeba... LOL. Who am I kidding, only the Kings do that.

Seven of Saturday's 10 games have featured one team scoring at least five consecutive goals: NSH, NJD, NYR, WPG, DAL, ARI, STL.

You know, for people who complain about LA fans being bandwagoners, those Sharks fans sure do love to leave early when the going's rough, don't they?

Probably were listening to the Sharks broadcast on headphones. I was waiting for Jamie Baker to stop talking, but it never happened. I had to turn it off. Good lord what a downgrade from Drew Remenda.

Watch it, now. That was Doug Wilson's earth-shattering second biggest move of the rebuild, right after acquiring the Gretzky-like John Scott.
