Call it the "Poor First Round pick whose NHL career is over before it ****ing began, Oilers edition. Thanks for the trade --XOXO Pittsburgh"

haha.
Riley Nash, Alex Plante, rob Schremp and Jesse Ninimaki all come to mind as first round bust for edmonton.
Their drafting has been terrible. They need to just go off of TSN's rankings

Value isn't bad, but are the Oilers really in a position to be trading away productive players for picks?

Could be to clear cap space for another trade!!! Probably not...

or to overpay a UFA as that is the only way a UFA would sign in Edmonton right now.

Now that's funny!!!!!:D

Rebuildception!

When they beat us the other night, upper management kicked a hole in their desks and set their tank plans on fire. Someone had to go.

the one place Edmonton has depth is the wings. Perron was the odd man out.
Wouldn't surprise me to see this pick dealt.

This got me:

I miss that guy. Great character guy and fun to have on the team. I wish him the best.

Let's face it, we're better than EDM in every conceivable way. If we want to beat them in hockey we can. If we want to show them how to properly tank, we can show them how to lay an egg with the best of them!

With losses against BUF, EDM, and CAR, we're just trolling the McDavid contenders!

So we stay close to a playoff spot but also keep close to the McDavid race...until the Kings decided what they want to do

When you speak out against the direction of the team and how they play, it was a one way ticket out. Perron spoke his mind and got traded.

You mean they get a free ticket out of hell? If this were true I expect other players to start speaking up hoping they win the lottery and get the next ticket out of town. I mean, where could they go that's actually worse? The organization has turned into a joke and will go no where until upper mgmt is cleaned out.

I agree, all heart and soul, but unfortunately no room for him after the kids (Toffoli and Pearson) started lighting it up last season.

Not bad enough the Canes are up 2-0 in the 3rd and badflyi outplaying the Flyers, but they just lost Giroux. He got tangled up with Justin Faulk in the corner and play went the other way and the whistle blew and he was writhing on the ice in pain. Faulk's skake blade cut the area on the back of Giroux's skate at the ankle level. It looks bad, blood on the ice and he was in a lot of pain .Three trainers came out, two got him up and one held his left leg up and they didn't even take him to the Flyers side , they took him dow nteh Canes tunnel (assisted by one of the Canes layers who jumped off the banch and grabbed Giroux's arm and took it over his shoulders) .

HOpe it's not his Achilles tendon....

Man, he should've been wearing those Kevlar socks. Its a minor inconvenience for protecting your achilles...

This kind of **** scares me from playing hockey sometimes.

Hope he recovers without problems.

While I think the Oilers should rebuild the rebuild, I'm not sure draft picks are the return they should be looking for unless they then use those for trade bait. Their scouting department is 100% pure garbage

I haven't seen them make the type of balls deals that Lombardi was making when he took over the GM job in LA. Like when he acquired Jack Johnson, or trading Demitra for O'Sullivan and the 1st that turned into Trevor Lewis. He also got a handsome return when he dealt Mattias Norstrom at the trade deadline to the Dallas Stars. And the mid-round pick he received from the Flames when he sent Craig Conroy there turned into Dwight King.

That's another thing the Oilers suck hard at. They can't find any decent prospects outside of the first round.
