Well folks.

My Stanley Cup pick is LA/Boston.

Heavy series, that see's bodies flying all over the place.

Brown gets the Game Seven winner, Kings repeat.

Hf boards crashes with threads titled "Kings are a Fluke, NHL handed them cup ETC ETC".

I prefer that the Kings play the style that they currently employ where the forwards don't leave the d-zone until they are sure the puck is going to get out.

Perry leaves early quite often, as does Selanne. That kind of style doesn't usually produce results in the playoffs. It didn't produce much in the way of playoff results for BB in Washington either.

I agree wholeheartedly. I like our brand of hockey. It's not the most entertaining, but it works for us.

I think the Kings vs Bruins would be an instant classic. Two teams that really are close to being mirror images of each other.

Now that's a series that would be big money for the league. Takes me back to the classic Lakers/Celtics rivalry back when it was Magic vs. Bird (and back when I found the NBA to be entertaining and fun to watch).

We'd get an asterisk for the shortened season ;)

Then, we'd be the flukiest repeat champions ever!

Definitely would love to see Bruins/Kings though. That would be a black-and-blue series!!!

I could totally see this happening...AND LOVE IT!:yo:

Many of the recent champs haven't gotten out of the 1st round when defending the Cup. If the Kings even get to the 3rd round, let alone the finals, it'll be quite impressive.

.

That was my pick preseason, but the Bruins have me a bit worried, they played much better, a much more complete game the first hALf of the year. Not as consistent the last 20 games or so. Hoping they can amp it up, would love to see that.
I don't know why every TV hockey analyst is drolling over the Pens. Pretty much the same team as last year, and given that I don't think Crosby will be 100% in the 1s round, Fluery showed last year he cracks badly under presser and their D can be shaky, I think the Bruins are the better, more complete team and Rask is the better goalie, better D corp.
I would love to see the Pens go out early...

Kings Bruins would be a good series, heavy hitting, physical playoff hockey.

Figured I'd throw it in here. I know some King fans have asked on our board but just wanted to say Hickey has been a big reason for our success this year being paired with Visnovsky. Shame he didn't get his shot with you guys but we love him.

The best thing that would happen by the Kings winning on Saturday is that would drastically lessen the likelihood that we could face the Blackhawks in Round 2. I'd much rather one of the two teams that faces them take them out because if it's Kings/Hawks in a conference final, that is going to be epic and likely drain all of the energy out of both teams if it's a long series.

Kings need to avoid Chicago for as long as possible and pray one of the teams they face takes them out.

Lubomir Visnovsky just amazes me. I am so happy to see the guy who came to the Kings in 2000 and couldn't speak a lick of English, evolve into the leader he has today with the Islanders. His offensive play is not what it used to be, but as you can tell us, he was a HUGE part of your team making the playoffs this year, and that makes me feel good for him.

I think Lubo is one of the most underrated players in the NHL in the last dozen years.

Just too far down on the depth chart for us unfortunately. Glad an org who had a need for D and could play him regular minutes picked him up. It's also nice to see our scouts were right yet again with a pick that everyone at the time (many Kings fans included) thought was an outlandish reach.

Hickey also benefited from an organization that develops its players better than most teams do. Gave him the tools to succeed. Really thrilled it's working out for him.

kings waived hickey.

The Oilers up 2-0 on Minnesota...

Could be a really interesting evening tomorrow with Detroit/Minnesota/Columbus if the Oilers can win this.

I'll definitely agree with you on this one.

I love Lombardi but the way he dealt him still annoys me a little bit.

Wow. It's all wild and they are down 3-0.

3 goals on 5 shots for the oilers.

The wild have 13 shots, including some out numbered attacks.

I don't know.

When it comes down to it, it really is all a business and Lombardi's job is/was to put the best team on the ice.

My biggest issue was him even making stupid comments like "tattoos on the butt" and then turning around and trade guys like Visnovsky and Johnson, and try and maybe trade Brown.

I think Lombardi has learned alot on the job and we don't hear stupid comments and cliches like that anymore, which is a good thing.

While it's fun to watch the Wild crap the bed after their arrogant remarks that LA doesn't deserve an outdoor game, I really don't want to see Lumbus make the Playoffs.

I want both teams to burn.
