It kills me how the Ducks have a much better crop of young forwards than us...

That's fine, they don't have a single Defender (anywhere) even in the same universe as Drew Doughty.

Also please don't tell me you're talking about Etem....That guy is sooo overrated.

Forgot they had Etem, but I'm talking more along the lines of Ryan, Bonino, Palmieri, Belesky, DSP. Their D is still pretty solid despite not having a young star defender....

HUH? Have you ever watched a Ducks game...Bonino/Belesky are nobodies soon to be NHL journymen...

Ryan may be on his way out with Perry/Getz new contracts.

DSP is so good he spent the whole year in the minors getting passed by others....

Etem seems like a soon to be Trevor Lewis...lots of speed...not sure he has the rest to be a top end player.

Palmieri I can see be a 2nd liner...he does work pretty well with Getz/Perry...then again everyone does...

Pffttt okay, keep underestimating them. Its not like I like them either, they just have a better group of young forwards than us and have less problems scoring goals than we do. They also have some decent D and goalie prospects coming up, but we won't count them yet...

And I still think they'll get exposed matchup wise in the playoffs because they don't have a true #2 center, same with Chicago...

im having doubts we win saturday san jose haunted us last year in the final 2 games i have the feeling they will do it again

I am still so disgusted by the Kings pathetic effort last night, giving Det a clear shot at making the playoffs.

They had the chance to avenge YEARS of losing to this team by keeping them from making the playoffs.

Nobody on the team will admit it but I think the theme is clear: pace yourself and don't get injured.

Tough to win games like that.

The series all time against the Wings is like 81-82-25....Basically tied.

The Ducks have scored Six more goals than the Kings this year...

Not exactly that much more.

The Ducks cherry pick

A LOT

It's even less than that. Take out the "goal" they credit for each shootout win, and the Ducks have actually scored 131 to the Kings' 128. Hardly a significant difference.

Even better.

Offense hasn't really been a problem this year....Defending has been a little shaky at times.

The Kings are still top Ten in both categories, I'll take that heading into the playoff's.

The Kings really need to figure it out at even strength right now. They've been outplayed fairly consistently at even strength the last month, and "best puck possession team" mantra that a number of us stand by is precariously close to disappearing. They had a lead as much as 3-4% points coming into this month in Fenwick Close, and now it's down to barely over 1% -- and not because other teams have been jumping up the ratings.

Well, if it ain't broke...

I prefer that the Kings play the style that they currently employ where the forwards don't leave the d-zone until they are sure the puck is going to get out.

Perry leaves early quite often, as does Selanne. That kind of style doesn't usually produce results in the playoffs. It didn't produce much in the way of playoff results for BB in Washington either.
