^ Has Rod the Bod said anything yet? Can't remember hearing anything. He's usually good for a nuclear hot take.

Schiefele is a wanker and I'm glad others are seeing it as he publicly embarrasses himself. He's got that same screwloose sense of 'you can't touch me' that Kucherov has.

The "positivity" rant was strange. Apparently we can't say he injured someone because those are negative vibes and he only wants positive vibes. He sounded like any regular Hollywood crackpot. #hatersaremuhmotivators #goodvibesonlyclub

How do you know he isn't. The "toxic" environment is said to still exist in the team and we're running out of old core players to pin the blame on. Doughty seems like the most immature and self centered player in that group to me and we don't need him any more anyway (please don't mention the word "mentor" and Drew in the same sentence).

Cheers!

Sounds like baseless speculation to call Doughty the problem because he “seems” self centered and immature. He praised his fellow defensemen on the Kings in his exit interview, and even said there’s a lot of promise there for the future. Sounds like he got along well with his teammates, and he’s just tired of losing and putting in the minutes that go to waste because nobody can score.

Gotta say if the Avs come back from last night and win the series with Vegas in seven games, it will show a ton of character.

Vegas has a big problem with closing out series. They blew a 3-1 lead to SJ last year. They blew the 3-1 lead against Minnesota this year. I highly doubt they close this out in 6. Avs are too good and will be playing with desperation.

Game 7 can go either way.

18m over the cap is absurd.

It's a loophole that needs to be closed.

It was clear to everyone that Kucherov and previously Patrick Kane took full advantage of the letter of the law, but they both operated in bad faith of the 'spirit' of the law, both teams made acquisitions KNOWING a player was coming back and putting them over. I'm just not sure how you close that without eliminating LTIR altogether.

I do like the idea of a small % cap increase for the playoffs so it isn't prohibitive of shopping at the deadline, but for this loophole, maybe something as simple as LTIR is ineligible for the playoffs if they either don't play 10% of the regular season OR they have to reserve the cap space for the injured player.

Edit: Example--EVERYONE knew Kane and Kucherov would be back. In these instances, the teams could make the pickups they need to stay afloat in the season, but couldn't ice a roster any given night OVER the cap--ie you'd have to bench your acquisitions to play Kane or Kucherov (so Hawks would have to sit Vermette et. al. if they want to put Kane back in--so the TEAM can exceed the cap, but the iced roster can't).

Let’s hope they choke again, but Colorado is giving them a run for their choking money.

LOL.90% of what is posted on this message board is baseless speculation, it's half the point, to share thoughts and spout off about how things appear to us. If we stuck to verifiable facts imagine how little there would be for people to insult each other over.

Anyway, my opinion is that it would be better for both parties if DD pursued his next cup on a team with a real chance in the few prime years he has left and let new leadership develop in LA.

Even when people disagree around here, which is often, they almost always insult the opinion and not the poster. The fact that we don't insult each other is probably why people like it here over some other fan boards.

Is it the NHL or MLB I'm thinking of where if there's something fishy going on an independent doctor looks at the medicals and can clear the player eligible to play? Would force Tampa Bay in this instance to activate him.

Wicked pass by Marty for the current go ahead goal.

Obviously we all would love to see The Avs tie this back up to send it to game 7, but with Vegas losing in the post season the past 2 seasons it's only left them even more bitter with a chip on their shoulder.

This year they loaded up with Pietrangelo. Patrioretty is back healthy. Marchessault is on fire and Stone is being Stone (which means extra Grrrrrrrrrr! faces when he scores!)

If The Avs get knocked out tonight they will come back even stronger next year as well. MacKinnon is already a force, imagine him with that extra little bit of nastiness!?

You stink Fishhead!!

The Avs should take Quick if they want a serious ice cold Playoff goalie who can close out a series. Grubauer is absolute GARBAGE.
