I'm not so concerned about his evaluation of MP as a #5, I think we can all agree that is unreasonably low. But like him or not, Seravalli is one of the most connected people in the sports, so if he say MP was untradable at one point, there could be some truth to it. I find it hard to believe but I also doubt he would completely make that up for no reason? He’s just plain wrong about Marcus Pettersson. There are times, some would say frequently, where he has an opinion and is just about as incorrect as a human can get. He’s very loud and confident in being so obviously and provably wrong too.
Chytil has a shorter contract and a lower cap hit than Norris, so even if it doesn't work out with him, the risk isn't that high. Norris on the other hand is a completely different level of risk, and honestly unless we get a significant sweetener along with him, I wouldn't be interested at all.His shoulder is not going to last.
Same reason I’m hesitant on the Chytil acquisition with the Canucks being burned by Poolman and Ferland who both had concussion histories. If anything I’m looking to flip Chytil if not this year then in the off season after maybe squeezing some productivity out of him with an increased role.
He said last two weeks. I added a third week just as a buffer.
I mean it's a lie. We see horrendous defensemen traded all the timeHis comment about Marcus Pettersson being untradeable in the past makes no sense as he's on a fairly modest contract and has been consistent season to season in his play.
Seravalli never said this. It keeps getting repeated. It was a troll post on Twitter. The quote was entirely made up.
So we finally built up some depth on D and now we are selling Saucy at rock bottom.TBH Soucy should fetch decent value. The sheer dearth of reliable defensemen helps us here (not enough good defensemen to around thanks to expansion). Big body, good prior track record, light cap hit. Should return a 2nd at least and another pick. Would give them some more assets to go center hunting too.

I think the cap announcement right after the deal could have Colorado feeling like they could have kept him tooI mean everything from Rantanen saying he would have taken a steep discount to MacKinnon being visibly shaken up by it in an interview, maybe there's been some off-ice drama that stemmed from the move.
Perfect summation.Seravalli is basically the Taj of insiders. When he faithfully transcribes (reports) rumors, there's information. When he ventures into the realm of offering his opinion, he removes any and all doubt that he is anything but an imbecile of the highest order.
They can have a discount price reunion in a few months if everyone is as torn up about it as indicated..I mean everything from Rantanen saying he would have taken a steep discount to MacKinnon being visibly shaken up by it in an interview, maybe there's been some off-ice drama that stemmed from the move.
Similar to Satiar Shah, a guy I actually enjoy listening to, but when he has talked about Pettersson in the past, and how he's not sure he's even an upgrade on Soucy, you can tell he doesn't watch many out of market games and to take his player evaluations with a grain of salt.Seravalli is basically the Taj of insiders. ??
- Just talked to a team that acquired a player in the last couple of weeks and is already questioning that move
Thats a huge misstep by the Colorado office and incredibly incompetent if so. Wouldn’t surprise me at all.I think the cap announcement right after the deal could have Colorado feeling like they could have kept him too
Also Frank Seravalli is a f***ing loser
tbf with shah - he acknowledged that he's lower on m pettersson than most and was happy to be proven wrong. his opinion wasn't strong - just that he wasn't enough of a needle mover relative to soucy and that's why he wasn't in favour of moving the first for him earlier in the year when it became apparent pittsburgh wanted a first.Similar to Satiar Shah, a guy I actually enjoy listening to, but when he has talked about Pettersson in the past, and how he's not sure he's even an upgrade on Soucy, you can tell he doesn't watch many out of market games and to take his player evaluations with a grain of salt.

I'd trade him for the Blues 3rd.Marek on his podcast said the oilers have had interest in Soucy in the past
