Is that really the example to use in that joke? Carolina/Winnipeg, ok, nobody would care. Boston/Montreal? The league would kill for that series.

Boston and Montreal would deprive us of a classic matchup of two traditional hockey markets like Tampa Bay and Vegas. Going off of attendance numbers, hockey is surely more popular in the desert than Canada.

Hope Carolina’s owner is taking note that being a cheapskate can work up to a point, and that is goaltending. Brutal goals given up by Mrazek.

Dundon is awful; can't see that is an issue EVERY playoffs. The fact that Brind'amour, who I think is one of the best young coaches out there, isn't signed yet, that he offered 1.8 M x 3...is insulting.
Mrazek should be moved and an actual #1 should be signed

Buth that won't happen. Shame because they have a great group of 6 D and a good crop of talented forwards.

I hope Brindy tells them where they can stick their offer and signs with another team.
Coaches not currenltiy working are making twice that.

I hate TB. Rod the Bod? More like Rod the overrated coach.

I like him and think he's done about as best any coach could, these last few years, handcuffed by an owner who squeezed every penny. How far do you expect them to go every year with backup goalies?

I know he loves Carolina, and I think Dundon knows that and is using that. I hope Brindy gets fed up and walks away.

Kucherov doesn’t get enough credit for how truly great he is. He is right there with anyone in the league.

51 points in 35 playoff games the last 2 years.

And this is a guy who missed the entire season. You’d expect him to show some rust, but nope. Also love that he plays with a chip on his shoulder.

Tampa is just an offensive juggernaut despite the suspect goaltending from Carolina. Kucherov is up there with McDavid when it comes to offensive skill. Just other worldly.

I was just trying to zing a dude.

Which wouldn't have helped for 2 years, and there's no Lou or Trotz building this team. DL couldn't let go of players, we can't let go of moves.

What do Lou and Trotz have to do with Barzal being a star? He was great before either guy got there.

Is it that out of line to be commenting in the other games thread on the Isles best player who the Kings were going to choose at the draft? Seems relevant.

If you disagree with the post just say what Kings trade in the last 21 years has had a more negative effect on the franchise?

"The first round pick used in the package for Milan Lucic that was likely Barzal or Connor" trade is definitely up there.

Cernak+ for Bishop rivals it, by sheer virtue it was done around the time of Quick's return instead of early in the season. Even though the value was far worse, at least the timing made sense.

It's not the Barzal trade for the hundredth time.

A pick was traded. It's usually the Connor trade but he didn't play tonight so, today, it's the Barzal trade.

The guy that took Lewis and Forbort in front of studs traded a pick that he generally f***ed up but this is the one he was going to nail because... scuttlebutt after the fact?

The Barzal trade is shorter and more specific than "the first round pick used in the package for Milan Lucic that was likely Barzal or Connor" in this context. You knew what pick we're talking about, right? I'll change it just to make you happy though.

Odd to be using pick history to discredit what's been discussed. I guess since the Kings made great picks with Simmonds, Voynov and Toffoli in the second round, all picks in the second round will be home runs, right? This year is Christopher Gibson's year.

They have a lot to do with where the Islanders currently are. I think we rip Blake and his clown car of coaches too much to think Barzal would have the Kings heavily in the conversation half way through the 2nd rd.

And DL still wanted to win in 15-16. Had they not won before the Lucic deal, and they had done that Lucic deal, then it's just usual Kings crap. The same way the Richards deal was sliding toward that normal Kings crap, because you don't get him to still not score and get the 8th seed, until they won. Then the deal is fine, even if he breaks down in less than 3 years.
