Do the Panthers have a spot for Pacioretty now? They took a chance on Mike Hoffman at a discount which I thought took them out of the Pacioretty running for now.

Huberdeau-Barkov-Dadonov
Hoffman-Trocheck-Bjugstad
McGinn-(McCann/Borgstrom)-(Malgin/Brouwer)
(Vatrano/Haley)-McKenzie-(Sceviour/Brouwer)

I didn't watch a ton of Florida down the stretch, but I thought Bjugstad (presumably who Montreal should target) got some traction in the 2nd half when he was moved to RW (27 points in 35 games post-All Star break).
Plus I think Tippett should push for a spot.

I wondered why the Kings couldn't do something similar for their 50th anniversary to celebrate the team's history by donning every uniform the team has worn in its past. But instead we got a boring grey jersey to mark the team's 50th season. Ugh.

I'm really starting to think Luc is color blind.

I mean I hate the Ducks but that 1st jersey is so sick.

Didn't they literally do the exact same thing a few years ago? The ducks are only wearing these in warmups just like the kings did a couple years back.

I am funding the production of a new movie..."Black Men Can't Skate"

What do you guys think?

From what I heard the Kings had planned to wear a lot of the old style jerseys in games during the 50th Anniversary season, but that plan got shelved in favor of just wearing vintage replicas during warmups at certain games. I saw them wear the purple 70’s and gold 80’s style jerseys, plus the Chevys, the purple alternate with lace collar (1999-2002), and the Burger Kings. There may even have been others.

Guess the only purpose they serve for these nowadays is to wear them in order to auction them off.

Yup, that’s exactly what the Kings did. Some of them went for insane prices, especially considering they were replicas and not authentic game jerseys. Kopi’s Burger King went for $4111, and Quick’s, which wasn’t even used due to his being injured, went for $1275.

It was kinda weird seeing the current team in these:

If he leaves it will set Dallas back a decade. If the stars can sign him they are looking very good. I am a big believer in Heiskenan and think they could be dark horse contenders. Given Spezza comes off the books next year I don't see what the hold up is here. Give him 8 x 10.5 and be done

Imagine how weird it would be if they actually wore them in a game?

Issue is $$, what else. Seguin wants 11M per and Nill doesn't want to pay him more then Benn's 9.5. I don't think it's Spezza's last year (although that will help, it was why they were i on Karlsson) as much as it's Nill's thought process. Maybe Seguin will settle on 10

From Chris Johnson (sportnet)

Jason Garrison on a PTO with the Oilers

Martin Brodeur's new job title with the Devils is Executive Vice Pres. of Biz Development

Sounds like Zetterburg is done, has not been able to train and will miss camp. He should retire.

Bill Armstrong is the Blues new Asst ' GM

Connor McDavid has been working on ways to improve his touch, wants to score more goals this year.
I wonder how many more he'd get if he had a legit top line winger.

Hmm Zetterberg cannot go as soon as his take home salary drops dramatically. What a surprise. I bet if he was still taking home $7M/yr he would be finding away to play through his back pain. Just like Hossa could play through being allergic to Jerseys till his take home went down.

I am surprised the Oilers didn't go with Franson over Garrison, but still like the PTO.

Sequin is worth the $11M/yr and Dallas would be smart to give him that for 8 years. He is only 26 and will turn 27 halfway through this year.. I would be curious to see what % of Cap Benn's deal was when he signed and put that % to today's cap.

He is worth it, I agree and w/o him, there is a huge hole there. CAP was 75M when Benn signed , so about 12.5%

So that would be about $10M/yr.

Anywhere in the 10-11 range seems more than fair to me. Dallas has no State Income tax so perhaps he would take less than on the Market, plus maybe he would take less considering it would be a n 8 year deal not a 7. Will be interesting.

I'll never say it straight up on the prospect board but I think Heiskanen is gonna be better than Dahlin in a Doughty > Karlsson sense.

My goodness is Dahlin ever fun to watch though, and him and Risto together should make for a fun PP (to say nothing of their forward powers in Eichel Middelstadt etc)

To say that people love Karlsson because he scores a ton for a defenseman and those who like Dewey like him because he does everything? If so, I agree.
