Detroit now over the cap

I'm hoping the Devils have talked to them, either for a trade for Gustav Nyquist or for being a dumping ground for Johan Franzen's deal. Detroit has its own 2019 2nd plus the Islanders' from the Tatar deal. Devils could taking the final two years of Franzen's contract, and then they could possibly use that pick to shop for a middle six RW. Anaheim has a glut of RW if Patrick Eaves is healthy, so I'm wondering if they might look to move Jakob Silverberg who's in the last year of his deal.

I think Zetterberg is done. I saw references to his having a rough summer.

I wonder what the holdup is with Nylander's new contract. Do the leafs want to bridge him but he wants 7-8 years? NMC issue?

That was just terrible what happened to the USA in the U18 game. Time expires, puck goes in, called a good goal on the ice and Canada ties it. No video review allowed. Then Canada wins it in OT.

Welp, dodged those 2 bullets...

I still think Lucic will return to be at least a 4.5M LW.
Would you give Lucic 4.5m x 6 year contract right now? The years were by far the worst part of that Lombardi proposed contract, and that's what would remain on that deal. That deal would still be awful

I would trade a third round pick or Brodzinski or Clifford to Edmonton for Lucic if they retained all but $4.5M for the rest of the five years on his contract.

I just read an article that said that the Lakers have priority in the scheduling of Staples Center. How is that even possible? I know AEG has a small percentage of Laker ownership but they're actually THE owners of the Kings.

Staples was built for the Lakers. The Kings and Clippers were add ons. If you think being second sucks, try being the Clippers.

I remember a Kings player (Brown?) mentioning that during the season, they don't have regular assigned parking spots like the Lakers do.

Clippers are forced to yield to Kings and Lakers at Staples Center

My point is the Kings let themselves get bullied by the Lakers in their own house. It doesn't matter if the Lakers are the bigger draw. It's kinda embarrassing. Staples Center is a hockey arena just judging by the sightlines and the angles of the seatings, just like any other arena that houses both an NHL and an NBA team (not counting Barclays Center). Yeah the Clippers are a third class citizen at Staples, that's why they are leaving in a few years. It will be interesting to see how much longer the Lakers and Kings will be sharing the same arena.
