Tavares would have given them certain center depth. And not one of those guys is remotely like Tavares. Couture is a Carter-level guy, Pavelski is great but he's slowing down.

But yeah if they got Panarin he's the type of impact player who says "I don't care who my center is" like Kane so that would be a good one.

No, of course not. JT would have made an impact for years. But Wilson knew there was a good chance JT didn't sign. So they have some sort of Plan B. Not as good, but they will add. And you're correct about their center depth. Maybe they make a play for ROR or RNH. Or maybe even Kadri.

That's gotta be rough for Isles fans. At least the Sharks didn't sign Tavares, the Pacific is hard enough to play in...
 
Some decent names out there still; potential 4th line RW's over Brodzinski.

Versteeg, Richardson, Stempniak, Stafford, Yakupov, Read, and Stajan.
 
Ryan O’Reilly traded to Blues for Berglund, Sobotka , Tage Thompson, 1st round pick and 2nd round pick . Blues got rid of 2 useless players in Berglund and Sobotka who were taking up 7 million in cap space and scoring 20 points for O’Reilly wow . Blues look crazy deep now too .

There are also rumors of CDH going to Leafs I hope he comes here instead

Amazing the Blues were able to make this deal without giving up Fabbri or Thomas. Its still a lot to give up just for O'Reilly, but its still a good deal.

Really dislike that trade for Buffalo. Sobotka and Berglund are dime-a-dozen nothing players. Thompson will never amount to anything in the NHL. Basically all they got was a 1st in 2019 and a 2nd in 2021.

The 2019 1st is also top 10 protected.

that honestly bums me out seeing yakupov on that kind of list.. 24 years old and his career's effectively over. i mean he's an absolute mental midget but i almost feel bad for him in a sick puppy kind of way
