There aren't any. Tell me how the Kings are going to compete for a cup with the top 2 centers they have now, because they haven't done it for four seasons.

So, why should the Kings hang on to an asset in Carter they can use to improve the team over the next 10-12 seasons?

10-12 years? By that thinking, just think how much they could get for Kopitar. You honestly believe they'll get all these high end prospects and picks for him? No team is going to trade a 22 year old potential 25 goal scorer and 1st round picks.

By trading Carter , you may as well forget the playoff for the next 4-5 years. But hey, look at these 2nd/3rd line prospects that are finally show potential in Ontario.

Well, the last 4 years the Kings have ONE playoff win. But hey, look they had Kopitar, Carter, Doughty, and Quick on the roster, so it's all good, right?

I actually think Dean either would have picked Doughty #1 overall, or traded the pick to move down one spot maybe two and taken Doughty there. There were 4 defensemen taken in picks 2-5, and some teams liked Pietrangelo and Bogosian more than Doughty.

It would have been interesting to see the wheeling a dealing that may or may not have happened, but the Kings definitely got exactly what they needed in the 2008 draft.

Something DL said as they were waiting to be interviewed at the draft was, I told you if you lost 15lbs I would take you, just a hint he was taking a dman with the first pick , and again with the second rround as it turned out ,old school thinking great defenses win championships, already had a 1c and thought he had a number one goalie in berneir

As a fan base we have to come to grips with the results of the last four years , even if it doesn't feel right because of the success we FINALLY experienced after so many decades IMO it's time we make a couple of hockey trades , I hate the idea of breaking the team up because in our hearts we feel we could do it again but we haven't and it sucked to sit thru games three and four and just not have the talent to compete , deep inside we hoped instead of expected to compete . It looks like a couple of teams may come up short and guys like carter ,toffoli, muzzin,or maybe Marty might move them closer , a team like the preds are so close they can taste it and might be willing to give up quality for a center like carter , or they could Go the way the canuks and sharks did as their window closes

Well so far so good on the eastern conference of my bracket. If the penguins beat the caps I would've gotten the east correctly.

Boston still has some work to do on their roster. Some tough decisions for them coming up on whether to stand pat or continue to rebuild.

I thought the Bruins would give Tampa Bay a tougher time, but it shows you how deep Tampa Bay is up and down the lineup.

I think the biggest nuisance to me is the over glorification of Steve Yzerman before he's won anything (as a GM).

Considering what he started with, it’s a deserving accolade. Similar to what Lombardi started with and turned the team into, except Tampa is yet to win the Cup with him as GM. Though they did come close in 2015.

That's fair. But I also don't think Lombardi got the "everything he does is the right thing" vibe either, whether from Kings fans or non-Kings fans.

He's done great things, but people treating him like the greatest GM when he's yet to put them over the hump is premature.

Reaves and the Vegas 4th line are having an excellent game thus far.

Vegas' gap control has also been excellent. Every forward working hard on the back check.

SJ in their losses--7-0, 4-3 OT, 5-3, 3-0. More goals scored on them in one game than all series w/us. Goal differential for the series was 14 for, 22 against.

Might be time for them to explore moving things of value since their core is even older than ours AND less productive.
