SJ in their losses--7-0, 4-3 OT, 5-3, 3-0. More goals scored on them in one game than all series w/us. Goal differential for the series was 14 for, 22 against.
Might be time for them to explore moving things of value since their core is even older than ours AND less productive.
Just think what Pavelski could get them? They could get a bunch of cost effective guys , save cap space and set themselves up for the future 10-12 years.
Hopefully Winnipeg, Nashville or Tampa will handle Vegas, will have to break my rule of never rooting for Canadian teams. No, it has nothing to do with '93.
More than anything was just illustrating how adaptable VGK is. They can play any kind of game, which, for me, puts them right there in the upper echelon. Fitting that they at least get a WCF. Nashville is similar in that they don't really have weak links and play a crazy team game. WPG is just overwhelming power and offense. WIll be interesting either way.
They've gotta at least start thinking about Vlasic and Burns, as well.
There’s nothing wrong with cheering for Vegas. Just give in, mate.
Winnipeg are darlings now, but just wait and see the thermonuclear bomb of Canadian hockey elitism if they win.
Are the Sharks winning anything with Pavelski? He is 33 years old, how much longer do you think he has to play in the NHL?Just think what Pavelski could get them? They could get a bunch of cost effective guys , save cap space and set themselves up for the future 10-12 years.
This is true, which points to the foolishness of the 8-year, big money contracts. How many times have people said the current disappointment will be when SJ starts moving guys? It's like Detroit for all those years. Constantly waiting for them to rebuild, and they never did. Until they were forced to. Even then, it's not like they got rid of anyone and everyone.
Boston, SJ, they're going to do what the vast majority of teams do, and that's keep trying. Or, keep hitting their heads against the wall, whatever it is that you want to call the process. Team altering deals are rare. Especially in a cap world, and especially with big contracts. Most teams re-sign their own guys, and most guys that re-sign for big numbers don't go anywhere. There's ample evidence not to expect much different than that around the league. If someone offers the equivalent of Subban for Burns, sure, SJ would go for it.

Can't do it, I live here, all of these new "fans" are insufferable. Their lack of general knowledge of the game and their own roster reminds me of the Kings 2012 run, but they still had that base of hardcore fans of 10+ years, many in excess of 30 years. Vegas doesn't have that, and the arrogance just makes it worse.
I'd much rather Winnipeg get to the Finals, even win, because we in the states can tune out most of the Canadian stuff as long as it's not Toronto or Montreal.
No need to let them walk when you can trade them to bigger fools. As long as those lengths are there, the agents will ask for them. One team may balk at an 8 year deal and let him walk, while another will kindly grab him.
I have no rooting interest in who wins it this year but the Jets have Jamie Kompon on their staff so I wouldn’t have a problem if they took Stanley home.
Plus his wife kicked cancers ass. That’s fuggin’ awesome in my book.
Nevermind. Looks like you’d love a healthy dose of hockey elitism.
And you live here and can’t even bring yourself to cheer? You’ve overdosed on salt, brother.

They have ridiculous amount of cap space this summer though so we'll see if they decide to go even more top heavy and re-sign Kane and try to sign Tavares or Karlsson.Maybe the days of the top heavy roster are at an end?
I was thinking more in terms of what Vegas might do with guys like Perron and Neal. I could see them letting both walk, or trade them at the draft. They only have a handful of players making over $5M in cap hit, but have some RFAs due some pretty good raises. It will be interesting to see how they navigate this situation. They have ridiculous amount of cap space this summer though so we'll see if they decide to go even more top heavy and re-sign Kane and try to sign Tavares or Karlsson.
