30 goal scorer? He scored 30 once. 10 years ago.
10 years... god damn time flies.

Well, we've been saying the Kings need to go to the middle and fight around the net to get their scoring going for several seasons now. Sutter said it a lot and they didn't do it. Maybe they'll do it for Stevens.
But if there really are players unwilling to go to the dirty areas, can we unload them to someone else?
Bank on it.
He's the real deal.
Report: Tomas Tatar wants $6-7 million AAV
Tatar has reportedly rejected a five-year, $25 million offer from the Detroit Red Wings.
Tatar is instead looking for a six or seven-year deal in the range of $6 million to $7 million annually. He has an arbitration hearing slated for Thursday, so this matter could be settled then with a one-year deal. If that happens though, Tatar has suggested that would probably be his last season if Detroit, according to a Slovakian interview. Tatar had 25 goals and 46 points in 82 games last season.

Had a good year a few years back and has been pretty durable during his NHL career but that seems like a bunch of cake he is asking for.
I can see why both sides are not close.
even 5x5 is skirting it for Tatar. Asking for more dollars AND term is gutsy
AHL players on two-way contracts are not expected to be allowed to take part, meaning Team Canada will likely be made up mostly of Canadians playing in the KHL and other leagues outside of North America.

Not sure why they'd do this...
Someone asked if RNH was a bust on trade rumors, and I said yes just to say it, and man, did Oilers fans' Jimmies get rustled.
To me Dumoulin is a young version of Niklas Hjalmarsson but bigger and slightly more physical. Hjalmarsson put up similar numbers when he was Dumoulin's age. I think he's easily worth 4M.
The challenge for GM David Poile was making shrewd financial moves to ensure that core remained together, not only for another run or two with Pekka Rinne in goal but for the future.
To that end: He now has Viktor Arvidsson, Filip Forsberg, Roman Josi, Mattias Ekholm and Ryan Ellis signed for a combined $20.5 million cap hit through 2019. Which is rather incredible.
Toffoli's agent would have advised him too not sign any long term deal, coming off a poor injury riddled season.
Pearson probably wouldn't have gotten offered anything more than 4 years.
You're presenting your opinion as fact.
When Toffoli's deal expires he's a UFA. Assuming he's productive, he'll become either very expensive or we'll lose him.
Kings had leverage because both were RFA's. They could have pushed for longer term deals in exchange for high AAV (maybe they did), but regardless if you think these players are going to be productive these are not ideal contracts for LA.
