Thanks for that, it's a great way to see the best young talent ,the future NHL stars, and the kids usually go all out in these tournys.

Arvidsson's deal is good for the preds, but I still like Toffoli and Pearson's deals.

All 3 are good, Arvidsson's is better, because of the term, IMO, because Poile locked him in at a great price during his best /prime years.

Props to TT /agent for getting the 3 yrs, he'll sign for a lot more on the next one.
Same with Pearson, who I think is a better and more complete all around player, edge to his tenacity, and he's been more consistant and has done more with less to work with. He'll sign for more as well.

The problem with not getting TT and TP on LTC's is that resigning at more money with Vilardi coming off is ELC in the timeframe and a lot of expiring contracts in 18/19, including DD's.

Poile has a lot of his young/core players signed for several more years, and getting Arvidsson at the price/term will benefit the $$ he'll save and need for RJ's next deal.

With Markov done in Montreal I can see a good fit for him in Toronto...plus if the leafs finish above the habs I would get a kick out of all the sour Canadien fans

Dwight King signing in the KHL. Probably offered more money there. The middle guys continue to get squeezed out of the NHL.

Good for King. Glad he's still working. I wish he had more skill/speed because he seems like a cool guy and he has the best score face in the NHL.

King isn't a middle guy in the NHL anymore

He's a competent 3rd liner. But by middle guy I meant the guys in that $2-4 million range that aren't on bridge contracts. You're either in that $6+ million as an established top 6er, $2-4 million range on a bridge deal, or in that $1.5 million or less range. King was probably looking for around $2.5-3 million but why bother paying him that when you can pay a rookie $900,000 to fill the same role. Even a guy like Lewis is lucky Dean gave him the deal he did.

Dwight King had 16 points this season and 13 points the season prior.

No ****ing way he was worth $2M, or even half of that. And that's why he finds himself without an NHL contract.

If King isn't worth half that then what the hell are guys like Nolan, Andreoff, and Clifford worth???

Andreoff is around the league minimum and Nolan is below $1M. And Clifford is grossly overpaid. King was earning $1.4M on his last deal. He did nothing to justify that number. He got paid and then things fell apart for him on the ice. Funny how often that happens.

King got paid based on his performance in the 2012 playoffs, and 2013-14 regular season and playoffs. It's not like he is the only Kings player grossly overpaid for past performance.

Last time I looked even in the real world you only get "paid" based on past performance. Unless you're special and get paid for how you can do in the future. Not surprising you're still whining. At least you didn't mention Kopitar by name.

If this is what you truly believe, I can understand why you don't get it.

Are you going to deny the Kings don't have several players which are overpaid based on past performance? I'm not just talking about Kopitar.

Salaries for hockey players are a lot like buying a stock. You buy it based on its potential for growth. Hey, maybe I should go out and get 1,000 shares of IBM today. They sure were great back in the day.

Saw a Sportster article about the teams Tavares would accept a trade to, and the Kings were on that list. Author listed a proposal of 2018 first, Campbell, Kempe, and Pearson for Tavares.

If that's all it took to get Tavares AND he agreed to re-sign here I'd do that in a heartbeat. There's no way that gets it done though.

Andreoff belongs no where near a NHL roster, Nolan is barely a 14th forward, and yes, Clifford is overpaid. He's the one that should be the 12th forward making $900,000.

Lol I just thought of something. What if Dwight King makes team Canada's Olympic roster now???

Oh I agree on Andreoff, the only positive with him is that he could easily be sent to the minors and likely would clear waivers.

The last time non-NHLers were in the Olympics was '94, and that team at least had some players who went on to have prolific NHL careers, https://www.sports-reference.com/olympics/countries/CAN/winter/1994/ICH/

Dwight King on Olympic ice surface would be hilarious.
