Pretty sure it's safe to assume the Leafs are making phone calls inquiring about potential #1D, but anything being imminent as far as a trade goes sounds very unlikely.

It's official! We've re-signed Tyler Johnson to a seven-year contract worth $5 million AAV.


That's a great deal for the Bolts...I like Johnson and he' s only 25, just entering his prime years.

I wonder what the Bruins will offer David Pastrnak . Young (21) and already a real solid top forward. Liked everything I saw in his game. Bruins are saying there is no timeline on when the talks will get serious but have 13M in cap space should an offer sheet arrive. (Which there was a mini rumor of a couple weeks back)

I think to EK's credit he's not the type of personality to ask for that much money. Frankly, I think he takes a lower AAV deal than Drew.

Then again, man, he would be silly to take less from the Sens, who would pocket that savings and...do nothing with it. They won't spend to support him it seems.

yes and no. Yes, they are making calls, they are at almost 79M and have 19 forwards signed. JVR and Bozak are the 2 forwards that are at the top of their move list. That will get them 8.5 back and they need to sign Connor Brown (expected at about 2.25 or so) ANd they want a d, that's no secret. But they have the summer to work that out.

I like JVR. He's a good fit for us and a better all around player than E. Kane IMO.

It's unfortunate we're not in a position to give up assets for him. Even if we could, re-signing him would be unlikely considering he's probably going to get Bobby Ryan money +.
