On Sportsnet tonight Ron McLean, Nick Kypreos, Elliotte Friedman and Adam Oates talking NHL trades :

Leafs interested in Riley SHeahan and Brendan Smith of the wings

Kings are looking to trade for a goalie and Ryan MIller and Ben Bishop are who they are eyeing up. Bishop would be a pure rental of course.

Also on a TSN podcast, both Bobby Mac and Friedman said that the Shattenkirk is likely headed to the Rangers.

wtf? why would we waste the few assets we have at the deadline on a backup goalie?

Maybe it's a conditional thing. If Miller only wants to go to a few certain places, then maybe Vancouver takes whatever they can get for him. If the Kings get to the 3rd round, and Miller has, say, 6 playoff wins, then they get whatever pick. If he doesn't, they get next year's 7th or something.

Let's just wait and see what happens before we ride Lombardi out on a rail.

There are very few reasons I would be okay with Lombardi acquiring a goalie:
1) if it's to dump a bad contract, like Gaborik for Miller swap.
2) if it's a package for something else the Kings need, like acquiring a good pick/prospect + the goalie.

Flames up on Hurricanes 3-1 in the third. Looks like they're going to win again.

That would make them 5-0-1 in their last 6, with 5 of those games being on the road.

Justin Faulk of Carolina reportedly on the block. Make sense for #Oilers?

http://edmontonjournal.com/sports/h...block-does-he-make-sense-for-edmonton-oilers/ … by @dstaples

Yes, he does, IMO. I've been reading that RNH is movable. And Canes have been trying to use Faulk as part of a package to get a top center, Avs still holding out for more. Maybe Canes should move on, RNH would be a good fit there. And Faulk would be a good fit for the Oilers, a good young D, and can QB a PP, 3 more yrs at 4.8M is good.

RNH is too good to be on the 3rd line, so moving him has been on the Oilers radar.
with the young talent on wing in CArolina, You put RNH on that top line with Aho (who I think is stud in the making) and Lindholm, and he'd thrive.

Calgary isn't the team to watch at the moment. Now the closest team to the Kings are the Blues, so go Hawks.

Yikes Minnesota about to get Hanzal. That'll likely be our first round matchup if the Kings make it.

So with @TSNBobMcKenzie's additions, it's:
Minny gets: Martin Hanzal, Ryan White, 2017 4th
AZ gets: 2017 1st, 2018 2nd, 2019 conditional .

Great pickup for the Wild, esp in a weak draft year. That gives them great center depth and a tough big center. They are loaded.

Hawks were up 2-0 but the Blues have come back to tie it. If they get two points, Kings will be five points out with no games in hand.

They now trail the Flames by six points after Calgary's win against Carolina.

This upcoming week is going to be a big one.

The Calgary games just keep getting bigger since seemingly no one else will lose. Nashville is fire, and the blues have been nigh unstoppable since replacing their coach (seeing that theme around the league).

MTL has played like Garbage under Claude Julien so far.

That has surprised me, he's an upgrade over Therein. But it's not easy learning a new system this late in the year. But doesn't account for the lapses that are there. And they are lacking at center. The Habs reporters saying that they weren't in on Hanzal because they have a better option in the works. I can't believe it's Duchene, although he would be a great fit, the asking price is steep. I don't know what other options would be out there at center unless it's someone under the radar.

Always happy to beat the Blues, I'll be rooting for you against the Wild, which would ironically bring us all closer to a first round matchup against you guys!

That Hawks goal song is quite annoying, but it sounded pretty sweet tonight. At least the worst possible Sunday scenario didn't happen. Now the Kings need to at least not lose in regulation tomorrow.

Can't worry about other teams.

Kings have to win ,win, win, then win some more. Playoff's have already started for the Kings.
