That's why we don't see many open ice hits or even Brown being crazy anymore, imo. Guys play systems and can't leave their bubble hockey rails in many locations on the ice.

Yup, the days of Scott Stevens style hits are over. Players get benched for being out of position.

The Devils with Stevens were as systematic as any team. If you're as good of a hitter as Stevens, I think coaches would be alright with you doing it. Few and far between though.

Arizona keeps sticking around. Sort of like Calgary last year. 6-1 in the division, with a 26-13 goal differential. 5-0 against the Ducks and Kings, with a 19-8 goal differential. Against everyone else though, they're 5-8-1, and a 33-48 goal differential. They have 2 division games until the end of the calendar year, and 14 outside of it.

And that game 7 loss in 2014 was also Teemu's last game. I was shocked at how many Ducks fans didn't care and left early.
