Again the kings wanted to get bigger and more of a veteran presence Dispute being "plugs" as you call them they both had size 6 2 moreau and 6 3 hunter. Which is why they would have made the kings over Bud

But like I said above, I'm not sure of the order of those things happening. I'm pretty sure Bud left before those signings, no? I agree to some degree, though, we were just trying to get bigger/meaner.

Colin Miller looks like he's playing really well for the Bruins. Good thing Lucic is working out or I'd be pissed. Still don't understand why he didn't try to include Gravel or Forbort when they needed a right handed shot back there, but whatever.

Maybe they demanded Miller? We may never know. And to be fair, we don't know what we have at the NHL level yet in Gravel and even Forbort to some degree, we don't even know if Miller would have gotten a shot here this year, because he was simply thrown into the fire in Boston with their injuries and deficiencies on D--one of those pleasant half-surprises you only get when your roster gets decimated.

The Bruins probably demanded Miller be part of the trade, He is exactly the type of Defender they need.

Right Handed, puck moving Defender, that won't be a disaster in his own end, with a lot of upside on Offense.

Boston's new Management wants to get away from being like a Western Conference team, and be more East like, fast/skill ETC.

.

Even if he left first i think he was told they were looking to get bigger meaner I mean they were in contract negotiations after all. Maybe Dean said we are going to be a bigger team to start the season so you most likely will be starting in the ahl and he decided to go get more money in Europe. If this was the direction the team was going ( and with king and nolan being promoted next it sure looks like it) what chances did he really have. I know disrept to Bud but if he was truly a nhl talent he would have played before now.

Is very possible and I know he had a young family to take care of, as well. Makes sense to go after the money, it was just nutty timing from the outside looking in.

Gratz Muzzin.

People finally noticing how good Muzz is. I still won't forget what Todd McLellan said about Muzz in that EDM interview.

What was this?

During a radio interview on Oilers now 630 ched. Todd McLellan talked about coaching the Canada WC team.

Bob Stauffer asked Todd McLellan about the EDM Oilers D problems.

Todd McLellan: "Speaking of Defender's, A team really needs to develop, or get someone like Jake Muzzin. "I know everyone talks about Drew Doughty on the Kings, and he is world class" "But Jake Muzzin is one of the best Defenders in the NHL, and no one really knows about him".

That's awesome! Thanks!

He's still our dirty little secret though...except to those who are into analytics.

I find it hilarious that many here are bemoaning our D-corps when the Kings are third in the league in defense.

D is fine.

The bottom six is really the only eye sore right now, but that is a problem league wide in the cap era.

Hopefully someone steps up this season down in that bottom six.

The Boston Bruins are not as bad, as people are trying to make them out to be. They will have a quick turn-around.

Who said they were bad? Third in the atlantic, not bad considering how banged up they were to start. They did a retool very quickly and got some goodies out of it, they'll still certainly be a pain in the butt for the East, especially if Sweeny's draft picks pan out like his quick renovations have.

The Rangers/MTL defenses are both being propped up by ridiculous Goalie play. They will both wilt come playoff time.

Their defenses, are going to cost them a playoff series. Unless their goalies go on a Quick/Thomas like run.

Not sure if anybody here care...but your 2006 3rd round pick, ex-Kings pick Bud Holloway will finally be playing his 1st NHL game tonight against Jersey with the Habs. 27 years old....you just never can forget about your dreams.

Was doing fine in the AHL, will surely not be a regular fixture but could definately be a fine callup from time to time.

Hehe Toews is just a boss, he doesn't take lip smacking from anybody. I love when the Hawks play the Blues.

Cause Toews makes it his personal mission all night, to smack Backes around, all game long.
