Ducks clearly have goaltending issues. Andersen has been great in some games and pretty bad in others. Really inconsistent. Khudobin looked like the answer for about 2½ games and then *implosion*.

Can Jesus save the Ducks from themselves?

I really have no clue. I haven't seen a full Ducks game yet this season. Scoring less than 2 per game isn't exactly helping the matter either. Didn't Andersen have a decent stretch with like 2 GAA and team just couldn't score more than one goal each game?

Quite the backhand by Rakell, woah.

Andersen was unstoppable for like a month, then his play fell off to match the team it seemed.

Speaking of Karlsson... no need to pinch down like that with a 5-2 lead, even with a forward high. The Stars score and have all the momentum .

5-3

I think anyone on this board who complains about our defense or goaltending should be clockwork orange'd with this game.

Never mind the defense of both teams, who are led by guys who are let's say 'questionable' on the defensive side of the puck...I'm more baffled by Ottawa's ability to find guys who can put up .950+ save percentages for 40 games a season. Anderson, Lehner, Hammond, Anderson again...

I love Karlsson and Klingberg is looking like him very quickly, but I'm getting sick of the general consensus being it's okay to be good on offense if you're mediocre on defense...I mean, it's important to be able to outscore your problems when they occur, but if a guy is constantly giving up goals/pressure only to get it back...I mean, does anyone remember how much **** Doughty got during the finals for turning the puck over to Pouliot and getting scored on before he went through the legs and scoring on Lundqvist? It wasn't even bad defense, it was a bad turnover, but for the rest of the series, that's all we heard about...add bad pinches and iffy defense to that and you have Karlsson nearly every other game. It's unbelievable how much people pump his tires...but I guess it's because he's sexy offensively, of that there is no denying, but give Doughty a system where he has full-go green light all the time and no PK time...just argh. So frustrating that PWHA writers have a hard time evaluating defensemen outside of straight points.

Edit: This is fun to watch though, straight 80s hockey but with today's full-team talent.

I see you on Karlsson is front runner for norris thread. And I agree 100%. He DOESN'T KILL PENALTIES how does that not be considered when voting for the Norris. I'm speachless. Between periods of Stars Sens game Dave Poulin and Ray Ferrarro got into a discussion on the Norris candidate and Poulin mentioned the same thing. Of course Ray went with all offense.

The award has really turned into the highest scoring defenseman award.

A minute after I tuned in Sens had already had 2 breakaways. :shakehead

Dallas forcing so many plays in the offensive zone too. Blind passes to the point and force feeding it to the slot.

Holy smokes 6-4! Nevermind 7-4! Worst showing of Defense I've seen in a loooong time.

And back between the pipes as well! Khudobin pulled after two basically similar far pad rebound goals.

I don't mind as much if Karlsson scores a lot as a defenseman that's pretty darn impressive. He is all world on offense but the Norris is for the BEST ALL around defenseman and he is average at best and don't kill penalties. Every defenseman that I can remember that has won the Norris Does eeeeeverything. PP, PK, plays against the best players from the other team. I even read some fans say they are saving him for his offense. LOL! When I think of Norris I think of Lidstrom, Bourgue, Chelios, Leetch, Robinson, etc. they do it all! I don't care much about individual trophies but give it to the person who deserves it and the two years Karlsson has won the trophy Webber and maybe even Doughty got robbed.

I have no problem with Karlsson winning the Norris. I think it should go to the best d-man, whether that be an Erik Karlsson type or a Rod Langway type.

Karlsson does some things from the blueline that I have never seen a defender do.

Yeah like not play d. He's a gifted 4th forward....

He's great offensively I agree. But I'd like to be able to use my best defenseman in all situations for him to be considered the best defenseman.

If you want to think that fine, he certainly plays an offensive style but it's way off to call him a 4th forward. The best facet of the game is his ability to carry the puck not only out of his own zone but through the neutral zone to create offensive chances. It amazes me how undervalued that is by some, especially since the Kings in years past have had defenders not capable of passing the puck effectively out of the zone, much less skating it out.

And people always mention Tarasenko as a "what-if", I think having Drew Doughty and Erik Karlsson on the same team with Quick in goal we would be in the middle of a dynasty.
