The Preds are going nowhere without a legit 1C. You can have the best goaltending and defense like they do, but in the playoffs it doesn't mean jack **** if you're not deep at center. Look where its gotten them.

Kings won six in a row a couple of times last season. Was that team capable of winning a Stanley Cup?

I never said the Sharks were a Stanley Cup contender. Finishing second or third in the Pacific likely means a first round exit for the Sharks.

I said before the season the Sharks were in the mix. They're a good team, folks. They added defensive elements to their mix, and their youth has gotten a year older. They added Joel Ward and Paul Martin (to Burns and Vlasic, giving them a more legit D). Marleau and Thornton may have exited their primes, and they're also currently doing what they're doing without Couture, but Pavelski as captain is fantastic, and they're going to be a pain in the ass till the end, especially when Jones is on his roller coaster high. Can hate them all you want, but can't ignore them. They had a bad year last year too but went out to fix their problems bigtime in getting Jones, Ward, Martin

I agree they need to address their centre, but they have pushed the blackhawks to the break a couple of years. Very close entertaining series.

I think it will be better to finish 2nd or 3rd in the pacific than first and have to play the central cross over team.

Disagree. Don't want to have to repeat the feat of going through both the Sharks and Ducks just to get to the WCF. Brutal path.

...then again, if the playoffs were to start today, the Kings would open against...

...the Blackhawks.

*sigh*

Sorry to say this but literally every other fan of every other team wants to see Kings vs Hawks round 3 :handclap:

I know you guys wouldn't like it though

Kings could get the Nucks
Kings and SJ comes down to a coin flip
Exact same records and point diff

Kings can't play the Canucks if the Canucks end up in 5th place in the Pacific.

And 5th place in the Pacific will probably be about 11th place in the conference.

It only matters when you can win 6 in a row in the playoffs :naughty:.

Kings won 8 in a row in 2012, 6 in a row in 2013 and 6 in a row in 2014. Holy hell, remember back when the Kings couldn't win 4 games in a series?

I can recall Game 3 against Detroit in 2001. With 0 playoff wins since 1993 at the time, that was a big win.

Nucks are in third today. If the Kings were to lose the coin flip they would be in second
2 plays 3

Yes, the playoffs are when even 3 game winning streaks can be awesome. That 8-game streak in the 2012 playoffs probably won't be replicated for quite some time.

Central Scouting Players to watch for 2016 draft

http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=789295&navid=nhl:topheads

For anybody old enough to remember Keith TKACHUK, his son Matt is projected to be a first rounder (LW)

6'6 center Logan Brown (first rounder) would like nice in a Kings uniform.

I really hope we can draft another big centerman who can come up with Kempe to eventually replace Kopitar/Carter, especially if we could've drafted Bjugstad but missed out.

Loooong season hate talking bout playoffs until we are in. Just saying. This team is still too erratic for me to consider them a sure bet. Our division is weak but not gonna talk bout playoffs cuz I was sure we were in before we got bounced last year.
