Around the League 15-16 Part 3

Typical. It's really quite comical now with the Ducks when they're getting worked over. I'm shocked whenever they DON"T resort to these types of shenanigans when they're losing by more than 3 goals.

Is it any surprise that the two losers who acted like immature brats when they were on the Canucks continue to act the same way when they're on the losing end of a blowout?

It's pretty funny that the Ducks believe the solution to their playoff choking is to keep bringing in former Canucks.

If they come up short again this year Murray isn't messing around, he is trading for Jumbo Joe.

For all the whining about Brown, he has as many goals as Getzlaf and Kesler combined...and just 1 less than Sid the kid himself. Just say'n.

And just like last night, Islanders blow a chance to score on the 5 on 3.

But last night they had 45 seconds, which is a long time. Tonight? They had 1:47 and couldn't get it done.

So much for the 7th best power play in the league.

The Islander's power play has been MISERABLE since Dougie Weight has been in charge of it. Basically it is A LOT of passing on the perimeter and at most 2-3 shot attempts per two minutes. For the amount of offensive ability the Isles have they should be much better with a man advantage.

Those two quick snap pass plays to Nelson for goals were beautiful to watch, however. Now that's what hockey is supposed to be about. Tremendous skill to beat a goalie who was on his game last night. (Don't let the 4 goals fool you...Khudobin had a great game. The Ducks defense? Not so much.)

For all his success offensively as a player, the man has no idea how to set up a power play. He doesn't get the concept of having your RH shots on the left side, and your LH shots on the right side when setting up in the zone for a PP. It cost the Islanders last night too.... Frans Nielsen couldn't convert on a beautiful cross crease pass from Tavares because he was on the right side doorstep and he's a left shot putting him on the back hand. If that was Okposo or Strome it would have been buried into a yawning net.

Same thing with the point men.... they're completely wasting Boychucks shot having him on the right side.... the only way he's getting off a one timer is if the puck is coming from his right. When his D partner passes him the puck, he's got to stop it, turn then shoot. By that time the lane is plugged up and it hits someone in the shin.

I've been griping about this for going on 3 seasons now and the dopes can't figure it out. No one else in the league runs a PP like these idiots.

Really impressed with that Islander team, streamed a lot of their games this year. They know how to play correctly, they are going to be a force. They are getting very close to the point where they can make a big move to put them into the serious contender category.

I propose we just join Sister City International. They can make us signs to put up outside Staples.

Long Beach - Sochi, Russia
Los Altos - Shilin, Taiwan
Los Angeles Kings - New York Islanders

Brayden Schenn was always way overrated. The guy put up 7 points in the WJC against France and then disappeared against real competition.

That first round in general was a lot more misses than hits, although the next pick after Schenn was OEL, boy would he be sick on the Kings.

Well he played more hockey than that.

Besides, if there's one tournament I'm not interested in, than its that awful overrated WJC.

Why dont they just start with the semi-finals.

Flyers still won the Mike Richards trade

Their Stanley Trade Champions parade in 2012 was pretty awesome, from what I hear.

When you suck as much as the Flyers do, you have to hang your hat on something.

Flyers fans crack me up. You should have seen them at Staples last season when they beat the Kings. Could have sworn they had finally won their third Stanley Cup.

It's amazing. Isn't the goal to trades to go for the cup or set your team up to make a run in the future in the first place?

I guess it's how people who know their team sucks cope with it. At best it was a win win trade, but I take the cups everytime.
