Around the League 15-16 Part 3

Not to beat a dead horse but I think Williams will be missed a lot, especially if there is a post season. I didn't think he was that bad last year on the whole given all the team's struggles. Glad he is doing well in Washington.
 
ON Insider Trading, Dreger brought up that the BJ's are having no luck negotiating an LTC with Ryan Johansen. And Johansen and his camp played hard ball b4 he signed his current bridge deal. Dreger doesn't think the BJ's are looking to trade him ,but did point out if the right deal were offered, you'd have to think the BJ's would listen, esp if they are getting nowhere in negotiations.

When he got up punched him right in the face. There are videos of both in the first post on the main board.

Marchand was justified in punching him. Not a fan of Marchand getting a fine. You shold be able to stand up for yourself it's hockey for Christ sake

It was a bit of a sucker punch. Nothing really happening and he skates up grabs the jersey and throws a punch.

Thanks. Having seen it, don't agree with Marchland's fine, he got a roughing penalty , that should have sufficed. Landeskog saw him coming and had to know he would confront him. But I guess the NHL wants to cut down on that sort of outlaw mentality. But he's not the type of player to skate away, he had to right to confront Landeskog.

Only thing I can think is the the officials made it clear they were calling a match on the play and giving instructions. He didn't listen. And if that is the case the fine is quite warranted.

Hopefully he came thru it okay, he missed time at the start of the Bruins season this year with a concussion. Two head injuries in a month is rough.
And he was fined before , so I guess the NHL is letting players know that won't be tolerated.

I 100% agree.
Not a marchand fan, but Landesog had to know he was coming The roughing penalty was enough IMO

I tend to agree but I wouldn't be upset with a fine either, that was a hell of a shot :laugh:

Agreed that Landeskog just keeping his hands down like nothing was going to happen was pretty dumb, be ready to defend yourself after something like that.

Hypothetically this summer, who would say no to a Johansen for Seth Jones deal? Also assuming that the Jackets aren't in a draft slot to take a D like Jakob Chychrun.

Having said that, you are dead wrong on this. Nashville wouldn't move Seth Jones for that malcontent.
 
Did Hayward just complain about the refs putting the Ducks down to a 5 on 3, then saying the player got hit in the head but it shouldn't have been a penalty?
 
And just like last night, Islanders blow a chance to score on the 5 on 3.

But last night they had 45 seconds, which is a long time. Tonight? They had 1:47 and couldn't get it done.

So much for the 7th best power play in the league.

After last night it moved down to 11th. But that was a crazy 5 on 3. Think they really should have scored on that. There were some crazy saves and bounces to keep the puck out.

They are likely going lower after that performance.
 
Hayward is like a fan in a GDT, just spewing nonsense about dives, bad refs, bad bounces etc.

The difference being he is supposed to be a professional broadcaster, it's embarrassing.

He was responsible for Ovi losing out on his record breaking goal...TWICE.:laugh:

Both goals were challenged and overturned. But yeah, gonna miss his playoff mojo for sure.
