Damn but would love to see McDavid on a 3-on-3 against the Ducks. Would be something.

Pre-emptive strike: yes, two ex-King prospects contributed to that winning goal against the Ducks.

Now, please do not mention it further. :D

Smart play by the goalie keeping the play alive instead of covering the puck.

Remember when the Ducks were unbeatable in 1 goal and OT games? Oilers win in ot. Things aren't the same as last year.

Man are the Oilers fun to watch in OT, even without McJesus.

Ducks reduced to standing around in their defensive zone for long stretches in that OT.

Sort of like the last game. They almost look like they're trying to get it to a shootout and not to win it.

What a great play by Nilsson. That was close to being whistled down.

It seems like the Ducks lost all of their forward depth in one year. Smith-Pelly, Palmieri, Belesky, Bonino, and Etem are all gone. That's a lot of decent young players to just lose like that. Must suck having an internal cap.

The Kings should still take it to the Oilers on Saturday though. The Ducks are a crappy team in their own zone.

Honestly, I go to the games not knowing what Kings team I will be watching that night. Will it be the team which lost 3 games horribly at the beginning of the season, the ho-hum team I've seen lose to Columbus and Arizona in the past week, or world beaters on the road and with such inspiring wins against teams like Nashville, Minnesota, and Blues?

I have no idea.

Or a GM breaking up a good young core because you're trying to chase after the Hawks and Kings.

I think its absolutely ridiculous. If I was a Ducks fan I would be up in arms about that. Internal cap = mediocrity for years to come. It's amazing to be they are even as competitive as they are with that internal cap!

Just a ridiculous policy. This is the NHL, not Microsoft.

There's no way a team is going to be a contender in the salary cap era with an internal budget. I think Murray has actually done a pretty good job as well, considering how limited his resources are. It has forced him to be more creative in building a roster, but he made one too many moves during the offseason. That Kesler contract is still absolute garbage though.

In the Caps 1-0 loss to the Wings the other night, in an effort to break the record for career goals by a Russian born player (483) ALex Ovechkin had 15 Shots on Goal...

Lucky Steve Mason, the Flyers get the Caps tonight and Ovie is out to set the record.

15 SOG's in a game is amazing.

his 483 goals are in 773 games, he's hit 50 or more 6 x in 10 years.

Yeah I couldn't believe that, in a shutout too.

Guy is an alltimer, we're lucky to see him play and I'm glad he's had relative health considering he plays as recklessly as Brown.
